From an objective point I see both are right but some people are afraid of packages breaking and a possible fine i know in NJ i was told if a package if liquid breaks its a big deal or ridiculous trade requests.

    what?!
Dale's Pale Ale, Old Chubb, TenFidy are classics
and I love Beerito - I'd buy it much more often if I could find it.

    Nice:

I notice several of the beers have two different labels, with one saying "dry-hopped with fresh hops" (like the RESIN - top) but also an alternate label (bottom) that doesn't mention dry-hopping/ fresh hops.

So, which definition of "Fresh Hops" are you using?

    Fresh = Wet/green/undried hops
    or
Sierra Nevada's - "Fresh Hops are the freshest dried hops to come from the fields, typically within seven days of harvest."

You're not setting yourselves up for another "label controversy", are you?

I rinse off the tops of any cans before opening be they beer or beans. Haven't noticed any evidence of ****** detritus on the cans I get from the store but cleanliness being in close proximity to Godliness and all that . . .

More likely because people who drink out of the can are putting their mouths on a metal surface before drinking, thus tainting the entire experience.

Yeah, not an issue for me though since I pour into a glass.

    Cheers!

No worries, we have new copy that avoids any confusion about that....but for those interested in formulation, they will be dosed as heavy as ever...

unfortunately many people don't do this, which reinforces the earlier point, it would be the same as sucking the beer right out of the taps instead of pouring it into a glass first!

and it doesn't help that some brewers are recommending this either...

Yes, you may. I'm going to organize a special tasting this summer, and you're invited and we'll round up a posse as well.

    Bring some of your homebrew!

    cheers

Possibly because beer from cans tends to be more carbonated for some reason.
I prefer draft beers because I don't like my beer to be over-carbonated. That said, when I do have a beer from a can, I almost always pour it into a glass to release some of the excess fizziness, because I feel that too much carbonation hides the flavors in a well made beer.

I drink Heady from a glass. The Crisp is the ONLY beer that I drink out of the can, every single time, and my camp refrigerator is full of Crisp all summer long. If you hadn't intended for me to drink it from the can, you shouldn't have made those cans so very, very cool.

Sir, I am a narrow can fanboy!

no problem drinking from the can, just pour it into your mouth and make sure to clean the lid before pouring!

The first few are clean. I'm not sure what happens after that.

I've shipped ...... literally a hundred packages, a majority of them Surly cans, but also a large number of bombers, and I've never had a single breakage (I'm knocking on wood like a jackhammer on PED's).

You were not out of line and you often provide positive impute and are a regular contributor. The OP was IMO well out of line on this however we all have our own bias and opinions

Nothing wrong with having a preference, especially if you had some bad experiences. However, since you created the thread and asked, leads me to believe your open to re-visit the preference. Best advice I can give is pick up a few cans of various beers, a mixed 6 pack if you can, or some single tall boys works too, and try them. You can try straight from the can, into a glass, or even maybe try them blind. In the end, only you will know if you still don't prefer them, or if your open to them now. Either is fine, plenty of beers in bottle. Our opinions are fine, but direct experience is no substitute imho.

Saw Rogue Dead Guy cans the other day, one of the best can designs ever. Can is flat black, black tab, new cool skeleton guy. Picture does not do it justice. Ironically I was there to buy some Dead Guy, but only needed one for the upcoming online Maibock tasting, so grabbed a single bottle.
