Noon Whistle (IL)

@Jangoon24 see thats how I feel about all the Gummy beers I have had. They are not bad but I was not blown away.

For me the Smack series is still on another level compared to their other offerings.

 

had two pours of mosaic gummy and took a crowler of it home. the smell and taste is really great, wish the mouth-feel was a bit more on par with the previous offerings. regardless this is a great beer, grab a couple if you can.

 

Picked up 2 crowlers of jive and two mosaic yesterday. Only drank one mosaic so far but pretty damn good, I agree with above, I had a ipa from a firkin at their vanilla Bernie release and thought the mouth feel would have been perfect for this beers juicy fruity flavor.

 

Mosaic Gummy is darker in appearance than the rest of the gummy series. Appearance and mouthfeel is more like Juice is Loose than the sort of orange juice look

 

Had Jive and Mosaic on Thursday. Thought Mosaic had the astringent aspirin taste I get out of some NE-Style IPAs. I much preferred Jive.

 

Everyone has different palates, I'd take Mosaic Gummy over Get Fresh Flow, Mikerphone Check 1,2 and Rockin' The Suburbs every day and twice on Sunday. But to each their own. Jive was better second time around, only Gummy that didn't grab me right away.

 

Rocking the Burbs isn't a NEIPA though, so hard to compare the 2. I'm with @Jplachy - the Gummy series hasn't lived up to the Smack standard with the inclusion of the astringent finish. Check and GFF are above for me.

 

I just speak hoppy beers in general, I hate this NEIPA tag that people put to stuff. If a hoppy beer is pleasing to the palate then awesome, if it's not then it's not. My hoppy palate became forever jacked by TG in 2013 so I gotta forgive that sometimes. Love the past Mikerphone and Noon Whistle, just these last 3 hoppy offerings from Mikerphone aren't in TG's league.

I have full faith in Mikerphone though. He's trying to get more on tap and I can appreciate that. But these 3 seemed rushed in my opinion

 

I was comparing Jive and Mosaic because they are both made by Noon Whistle and I had them at the same time.

 

Jive was the only Gummy that didn't grab me right away but the second time brought me around. Ever so quietly Noon Whistle just kills it!!

The newest release in our Gummy series, Let's Gummy! Coming in at 7.8%, this NEIPA features both citra hops and the new ekuanot Cryo-hops from YCH Hops. Available on draft, or in crowlers and growlers to go. This is going into kegs for distribution as well, ask for it in your fine local watering hole!

Hmmm, I was not that big of a fan of the latest Marz Midway NE IPA that had both Citra & Cryo....but that won't stop me from trying this!

 

That's Marz though...

 

Interested to know what everyone's thoughts are on the "Gummy" series thus far... Excited to try the new one tomorrow afternoon

 

I loved pretty much every release. Funny Gummy and Mosaic Gummy are right there at the top for me. Hopefully they start canning these sooner than later.

 

They've been awesome so far! I wasn't a fan of Mosaic Gummy - but Funny Gummy, Gummy Vortex, and Jive Gummy have been great in my opinion
