Better pricing? Are you being sarcastic?

I think compared to NYC/surrounding areas. I've heard 32oz fills of their stuff was going for roughly $20 in some shops. $14 for a 64oz fill is wayyy more reasonable.

If you don't think $7/32oz for pale ales and $10-11/32oz on DIPAs is good pricing for growler fills I don't think you have the faintest understanding about the way things work.

Prices are great at the brewery I'm used to paying minimum of 8$ for a pour of this stuff and you bet your ass you ain't getting a pint.

Side note , I wonder how chaotic/packed it's going to be today , I wouldn't mind stopping in for fluctuation and some bottles.

Do the regular Kane/Hill Farmstead growlers that are the standard for both breweries qualify as "clear"? Just curious how serious they are enforcing that clear growler rule. Are they really only allowing stainless steel growlers and the like as a result?

You can't see the liquid in them just looking at it, but if u put it up to light you can see it.

Not sure what you mean. Clear means clear glass. Regular growlers are brown glass and those are fine as long as they're clean.

I mean if it's as brown as the ones they're selling to you I think you'll be good. I imagine they just don't want any of these...

...kane and hill farmstead have not made clear growlers as far as I can remember...

Makes sense -- just didn't want to lug in 2-3 growlers and have them reject them lol. Yeah, they're brown glass, so should be good.

I was looking at $20/22 for 64oz of a DIPA/Imperial IPA. Every one of Other Half's on tap right now is under $20 for a 64oz growler. Including all the DDH stuff. That's what I was commenting about. I guess I forgot to add extra $ for hype.

And $7 for a Pale Ale is average, how is that "better on pricing"?

I'm a little bummed about the pricing as well. Higher than NYC prices and they are in Middletown?

Still might stop by today as I'm close. Anyone there, or been there?

At 230pm the crowd has died down a bit but the growler numbers are still insane, real far behind they're at like 28 out of 100 for tickets right now , and still 15 to 30 min wait for draft beers at the upstairs bar.

Remember other half wasn't always this reasonable, The change in other halfs pricing is pretty recent. There was a long time where growlers were 5+ bucks more than a 4 pack for the same amount of beer.

Also equilibrium just opened a space way way way larger than what other half started with. You could make that regiment that real estate prices could be similar, but I doubt it. They have a lot to pay back. I would be surprised if 2 years down the line prices didn't go down as their loans are paid off and economies of scale increase as they ramp their production. fractal citra is still only 14, that's the same price I paid for it at bellport a few weeks back, and they are typically the cheapest growler fill around me in Suffolk. I also just double checked money is 18 a 64 from barrier and it's not a double.

My statement about better pricing was primarily driven by cest cheese in port Jeff asking 18 for a 32 of mc2 last week. And some responses earlier in the thread about that being the going rate other places as well. Furthermore Hudson just opened with 9 dollar 14oz pours and 20 dollar 32s. Equilibrium could have easily used that as a price reference and gone far higher.

Would I like the prices to be the same as other half currently charges, absolutely, but these prices also aren't astronomical(see Hudson). Not to mention if I'm gonna make the 2+ hour drive up there, 4 bucks isn't going to break me.

buddy of mine was up there yesterday and said the growler wait was pretty dreadful (~ 3 hours to wait for a 32 oz fill).

it was opening day so i guess you'd expect that, but i'm sure they'll figure out a more efficient system.

fluctuation is amazing and smells/tastes like th haze.

i'm about 50 minutes from there so a few trips a month will not be a big deal.

Since they are going to be open ever day I can't imagine lines being much of an issue going forward. Except for releases and such.

Had numerous pours of Vulgar Display Of Flower tonight and it was stunningly good. Perfect from every angle. I'm very impressed, and also hooked.

They're open 7 days a week and they have a restaurant? And I told myself I'd spend less money on beer this coming month....

Visited yesterday--much quicker wait for growlers than what I'm hearing (only 5 people ahead of me when i got there at 3:30). Very nice space, food was very good, but certainly some kinks to work out which was to be expected given it was their second day being open....looking forward to returning for sure.
