Was lucky enough to grab some cans when it was released on Thursday. Decided to have the DSTT and Money Bomb on draft while I was there.

Money Bomb was solid and drank way more like a Sloop beer to me. DSTT was incredibly solid. Big and juicy, drinking beautiful. In my opinion, it was the better of the two collabs (Money Bomb vs. DSTT, AND DSTT vs. Throwin' Some Mo).

DSTT is just fantastic once it warms up a little bit, much better than TSM.

I remember liking Make It Rain more than the can of TSM I had yesterday, weird.

Had my first Barrier over the weekend, Tanto, thought it was delicious. The perfect beer to drink while grilling.

Anyone going to the release tomorrow? Gonna be my first time at barrier. Any idea if there would be a line tomorrow? Not sure whether or not I should show up early.

There might be a few people there at opening but not a line by any standard. No need to show up early. If you get there by 6 you will be fine. I'll be there around 5:00.

Here now. Looks like the same yield. Beer is just as good as the last batch.

This batch of DSTT is interesting, I would believe you if you told me Barrier is trolling all of us on the cloudy trend.

Smell wise it's identical to batch one, hop taste is very close but the mouth feel is really different. Not better or worse, just different.

Again I think they changed something small to prove a point, but then again I over think this hobby at times.

Haven't had DSTT - but I don't think they are going to jump into the haze IPA cult. At least I hope not. They haven't made anything like it yet that I know of. I did feel that the newish IPA Tanto is juicy and way too soft like NE IPA. I do expect that most of their IPAs will be proper West coast style. I just want my Dunegrass back!

This newest batch of evil giant was surprisingly cloudy as hell and was the best batch of evil giant I've ever had...and Ive been drinking this beer since 2009.

I agree that this batch smells the same and tastes the but there is something different.

I think its either: this batch spent more time in the tank than last batch (less than a week) and the sediment dropped out or they trolled us hard. Evan is a great brewer and brewing a great ne ipa is honestly not hard.

I thought Tanto was definitely a NEIPA. Juicy, hop forward but not bitter, soft mouthfeel, and not so much malt. Also, mine looked like a glass of orange juice.

That's why I didn't like it. Fine with me as long as Barrier doesn't ignore the other styles to pump out hype winning NE IPAs but I don't think that will happen.

So this Evil Giant was cloudy? Did it taste better/different or are you just responding to the appearance? A rye IPA should have some bite to it since it's a rye IPA, not soft, juicy, pillowy like a NE IPA.

Still had the spicy bite from the Rye but the flavors were more refined. Tasted better for sure.
