Hey guys/gals, have began to see a few Half Acre beers appear up in the PNW..
    Tried Daisy Cutter tonight..not bad.
Have a question though what do the names on the top of the can mean?
    I have Balmoral and Lincoln.

Those are the two locations of the breweries. Lincoln is the original location and Balmoral is the new back up.

Don't give up on them, Daisy Cutter I think is one of their weaker offerings. Double Daisy Cutter, Gone Away and Pony are all top notch and way ahead of regular Daisy Cutter. I have not had a bad Half Acre yet but I also thought the same about regular Daisy Cutter, just ok.
Their one offs and seasonals are all high quality tasty choices.

I really, really enjoyed Akari Shogun. I might be the only person, though.

You're not. That beer is one of my go-to's in the summer time. One of the first HA cans I really enjoyed.

    Agreed. Great summer beer.

I also think that Lava is selling Daisy Cutter a bit short but taste is subjective.

Get your hands on Tuna cans for a great summertime crusher. New official yardwork beer for me.

Navaja is pretty great for when you need to be too drunk for yardwork. Or double daisy cutter would do the trick too

Big HA fan here; Daisy Cutter is pretty overrated in my opinion. Double Daisy Cutter is pretty solid, and Navaja is fantastic. Goneaway and Vallejo are both excellent as well.

Yay, there's literally 3 of us

Seriously though, I love HA. Good thing I'll be able to pick some up this summer when I'm out that way.

What stuff from HA are you guys getting out there? Regular line-up or seasonals as well?

This question is probably more appropriate for the main Half Acre thread, but where does Galactic Double Daisy Cutter fall in this spectrum?

First time I had it I thought it didn't live up to the hype (hype being lines on day 1), but the last time I had it I liked it quite a bit.

So...I don't know. :grinning: I find Double Daisy tastes just a tad too alcoholic for me, so maybe the galaxy hops help mute that?

Exactly. Great flavor, but the slight booziness throws off the balance which is why I can pass on this now. A few years ago this was the end all, be all whale for HA, but since that time competition has produced similar options (or rather you can get IPA strength with the same hop fruityness) and HA has produced their piece de resistance, Beer Hates Astronauts....

I'm admittedly not the biggest Half Acre fan, but I cannot deny the awesome majesty of Beer Hates Astronauts.

I have never seen greater fighting words than Daisy Cutter being "just ok" and one of their "weaker offerings."

Meet me after school by the bike racks.

That beer has been discontinued, it appears Tuna is taking its place.

I would imagine it'll be available from time to time at the tap room, as a draft only beer.

But if you've tried Tuna, I think you'll understand why they made the move. Tuna is an awesome beer.
