Darklord Day 2017

Did anyone have a problem bringing one of these in last year or see anyone with them. Trying to finalize my bag decision this year. The hope/chance for warmer leather makes me want a insulated cooler to keep the hops cool. Have one of these and can't decide if I want to lug it around on my shoulder all day.

Those would be fine. I have some similar coolers that have always been allowed in. As long as you can carry it over your shoulder and it isn't a hard side cooler, you are good.

 

I'll be easy to spot, just look at my avatar and I'll be dressed like that.


I seriously won't be dressed like that, but it'd be pretty funny if I was. Sparty loves him some BA beers!

 

I don't know, I was at a wedding with Sparty last night and he skipped the bar and was hogging the cupcake table. Not even joking...

 

I can't imagine how much that thing will weigh after it soaks up all the rain.

Depends where and when you plan on passing out, and if you plan on puking into a garbage can.

 

Shirts are not required, however Munster police require both male and female nipples to be covered by pasties prior to entering town limits.

Let's be honest, the thread would go back to total nonsense an hour after the list comes out. MAYBE two.

 

Just take an uber. Your already spending 200 bucks on 5 beers. Whats another 50 to guarentee the bottle you want.

I think the release of the variant list is good for at least 3-4 hours of craziness focused on who will and won't get what variant and what variants are the best with total nonsense mixed in and taking over by the next day.

 

We may as well get back to speculation. In the spirit of March Madness, how many variants will there be and what are they?

My guess:
1- Marshmallow Handjee
2- Muerte
3- BA DL
4- Muerte with Cherries
5- Cadillac Barrel DL

 

I'll play along.

History suggests we definitely get Handjee, Bourbon and Muerte. The next few depends on if I want to go with my heart or my brain.

Heart
4) Something similar to FVM. By that, I mean vanilla, cocoa nibs, and a top tier adjunct (coconut or cherry are my preferences).

5) Coffee

6) Other adjunct not used in 4.

Strong personal preference to bourbon or cognac/brandy barrels.

Head, ie what I'm expecting

4) One "good" variant, most likely with coffee or cherry since I don't think they've ever done coconut. Probably in a non-bourbon barrel.

5) basic DL aged in something super-sweet

6) Cardamom, just because

7) hot mustard aged in maloort.

 

Really hoping for an Indian Vindaloo variant aged in some sort of Indian rice wine barrel.
