Has Three Floyds ever made a double barrel dark lord variant that did not use wine barrels?

 

I feel like drinking maple syrup Dark Lord might be worse for your health than meth. Like, the only way you could handle that much sweetness is if you drink it while biting into a lemon.

 

Not that I'm aware of.

It would have to come with a health warning label and a free diabeetus screening.

 

And cardamom.

 

Cardamom should NEVER be added to beer. Period.

 

They don't put it in the beer they put it in the maple syrup that they put in the beer.

 

Don't worry, this has been noted. Instead they will be selling spices in the merch shop. $30 gets you an ounce of dried cardamom seeds aged in Dark Lord barrels.

 

In that case it's ok. Carry on.

 

That stuff will pull $50 on the secondary market easily.

 

Fun fact I just learned from Wikipedia: cardamom is the 3rd most expensive spice by weight behind vanilla and saffron.

 

Why do you think I always go for the Cardamom variants? I boil those puppies down and sell the leftover cardamom for $2,000.

 

They're marketing it as "an explosion of cardamom in your face"

Early speculation is that they're doing this because they fear the bottles will explode like the hot sauce does, so if they put it on the label they're protected.

 

So will we be seeing a saffron Dark Lord?

 

Unfortunately it is Saffron, ambergris and cardamom aged in a box of dessert wine....

 

I think Quit Hitting Yourself is the only variant that was every double barreled (both wine barrels).

 

Hopefully it's Franzia aged.

 

Had Quit Hitting Yourself been better marketed as a DB variant, it would have gone in group A.
