I'm guessing Billy Full Stack is the first can being distroed NYC-wise according to a few places instagrams? Curious as to what the price will be.

it's at bread & honey already, but they price a bit high in general... $25.50 4pk, $7.50 a can... I grabbed a can at haymaker last night for $8.

Both prices are too high, but $7.50 a can is absurd.

But it's only .9 ounces less than the bottle! It's a steal at $7.50!

Looks like the old bottles of Singlecut will have some cans to keep them company on the shelves collecting dust around Long Island. The beer is good but these prices will continue to keep me away.

What's SingleCut's story when it comes to their prices versus every other brewery around here? Do they buy their hops from the guy who sold Jack his magic bean stalk beans?

This is from their facebook page....

Christian Namfuak the beer is great but why are you significantly more expensive than other new York brands? I'm curious as to what is driving up your price

We don't speak for other people or their businesses, but we believe in paying all of our workers a liveable wage, using every ingredient we think will make our beer (hops!) and our cans the best they can be, and for us that adds up quick. We know it's expensive, and we say a genuine thanks to all who buy it and support us in being the kind of business we think is best for our beer and our people. Cheers Christian, it's a good question.

are other breweries not paying livable wages or using the best hops they can use? Its cool that he addressed the issue but sounds like the reason is the one we were all expecting, $$$$$

That's too funny. I was thinking either greed, poor business management, or it was because they made the mistake of buying a bottling machine and not have the foresight to see that cans was really the way to go. So now people have to pay extra to fund the canning machine.

That's very noble they pay a living wage. But there is just too much competition out there. I hope that convinces them to trim their margins a bit and one day I will buy their beer again.

They have always been expensive, when they opened Full Stadk was $28 a 64 ounce growler which was insane for a new brewery. Earlier versions of that beer were inferior too.

I was ok with the prices of picking up cans directly at the brewery, but agree that the distro prices are too high.

I haven't been buying much Singlecut recently, but I grabbed a couple of bottles of Rye HBOL at Whole Foods for $8.99 and it's delicious. Bottle shop tend to run high at around 10-11 so I'm really glad Whole Foods are keeping things under 10.

I will say, singlecut's stout prices are very fair for being barrel aged.

$8.50 per can in midtown earlier. I love their stuff but that is crazy. People may buy it in the short term, but it's not sustainable.
