    I believe, the list of variants and bands came out on April 22 -- eight days before DLD.

    Variant list isn't usually until day before or day of, I'm not holding my breath...

    The big FU will be when they announce there are no variants this year and everyone will get two 2016 DLs instead...

    We already know Amon Amarth and Goatwhore are going to be there. This is enough information to keep me happy until 6:00 am on May 13th.

    I'm just happy that they announce the variants more than 24 hours before the event now. Expecting it already just seems crazy to me.

    That said, I'm in D, so who knows if it's even relevant for me. My time might be better spent reviewing my cellar and verifying just how many DL bottles I have of each year so I can make an informed decision when that's all I have left to choose from.

    This would be a fun poll: how many bottles of regular DL are in your cellar right now?

    I'm assuming I'm on the low end because I'm new, I have 2 from '15.

    My personal preference for opening Dark Lord right in the "sweet spot" is 5 years - so I always have a 5-year vertical (currently '12-'16) to open one every year. I'll be opening and enjoying the 2012 bottle when we get closer to the event!

    We did inventory for our group that's been going regularly the past several years. I had 19 bottles ranging from 2010-2016 just at my house alone.

    Yep, I looked most of those up and created a spreadsheet and ranked what I thought would be available for group D. I was hoping the BA would last, but I don't think it did. I remember stumbling in there with a buddy who was shitfaced. He had no clue what was going on. We made it out with Trump and Pump. On the way back to the gas station on the corner (waiting for a ride), he stumbled and dropped two of his regulars. He tackled me and I immediately dropped my bottled in the grass to avoid breakage on the sidewalk. His bottle of trump fell out as well, but I was able to catch it.
