In Boston for vacation. Any idea where I might find a place that pours utopias?

Post 390 has Utopia pours from time to time. Give them a call to see if it's on the menu now. Solid restaurant as well.

Sunset Grill in Allston usually has it, might want to call first.

It cost between $15-20+ for a few ounces, but well worth it. Trust me

If you enjoy Utopias, you may want to visit Mystic Brewery while you are here and try their Entropy and De Cacao. Both were available for bottle pours in the taproom last time I was there. Have fun!

I've often wondered why people compare these to utopias? Given the fact that the beer added to Utopias stems back to the early 90's, it comes in well over 20% abv and is by far one of the strongest and most complex things I've tried I just can't see it.

I'll add that Dacao is up there in booze but a much different profile.

ALL 3 are excellent suggestions

I remember back when I used to go the Extreme Beerfests (some of the first ones) and even they local beer fest here in Somerville at the castle (Hyperlocal?) where Sam Adams would pour Utopias.

Almost worth the price of the tickets alone (~$50 for the Extreme, maybe ~$30 for the local one) for unlimited pours of Utopias.

Enjoyable, tastes like Cognac. I would never pay $150+ for a bottle, but I'd probably pay $15-20 at a bar to have it again.

I was there a week and a half ago and they had both I think, they at least had De Cacao because I tried it for the first time. I liked Entropy from what I remember a few months ago, didn't care for the De Cacao as much. Almost an artificial cocoa flavor to it. I'm also not a huge fan of the syrupy mouthfeel of either, but it's expected at that strength.

I'd probably give them both a whirl again.

I haven't tried Dacao, but Entropy is brewed (from what I gather) similarly to Utopias. Of course it doesn't have the depth that Utopias has, but it's $40 a bottle rather that $250, and a very very good beer.
