Just bring growlers, if there is a release this weekend it will be on Sunday at noon but they won't say until friday or saturday for sure. If you can swing it, go to both locations and get the candied bacon at the cafe.

"Both locations", you mean brewery and fermentaria? Do they usually sell out? I am definitely getting there around noon on Sunday but late afternoon.

So there is the Cafe and the Fermentaria and they brew at both places and they have different taplists. As far as selling out we won't even know until Friday if they are releasing anything so maybe? The Sunday stuff has been lasting a couple hours and sometimes the whole day but you can never know.

I was thinking banana milkshake because of the "peeling" comment.

Fritz Maytag said one time something akin to "people should want to pay the same price for a bottle of beer as they would wine." Which I take was to mean that the beer was good enough to pay more for it. And we have gotten to the point of "Big Bottles with Big Prices." as well as really good beer. It's all up to the individual as to whether they think it's worth it. Do I think $22 for a Forest & Main bottle is too much? It might be. Have I paid it? I sure have. I've paid $160 for a bottle of Utopias. Expensive? Sure is. Worth the price to crack it open and share with friends? Certainly. Is $1000 to drink a bottle on premise crazy expensive? I think so. But if people are willing to pay it....

Well and at this point I understand the actual labor and material cost associated with making these beers as well, especially the wild ales and things aging in barrels of finite space that require years to mature and taste along the way. I have also paid probably too much for some beer but $500 seemed like a whole order of magnitude away from anything else.

You don't think it's just a doubled up extra vanilla like the others?

What's up with Tired Hands always losing power? Does all of the Philadelphia area lose power that frequently, or are they just in a problematic area? Its extremely rare for the power to go out around here, so its just seems bizzare that TH has to close at least one of its locations 4-5 times a year for power outages.

Double for sure, notice the 2 round dots. One for single, two for double. I'm saying double banana.....my guess with the "peel" comment.

I'd say too soon to do vanilla again.

My neighborhood in Upper Moreland would lose power often when it rained/snowed. But that really hasn't happened since like Hurricane Sandy so they fixed things after that.

I live about 10 minutes from Ardmore, and I lose power at my house any time there are high winds and rain/snow. I think it's a main line thing, I used to live in West Philly, and the only time we ever lost power was when a squirrel would fry itself in a transformer.

Do you think the canning machine uses more power than initially thought when the set up the Fermentaria? Seems like this only happens on canning days, right?

    FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm no electrician.

I'm no electrician either, but its easy to calculate how much electricity any machine will use. The only way it would use more than expected is if there was a major manufacturing defect. Even in that case, it wouldn't cause power outages while appearing to work fine. As I typed out this response, I realized your question probably wasn't serious, but oh well

I don't think it is the canning machine using more power than expected, I just think it is old power lines that go out regularly. Cafe just lost power recently as well. I could have sworn I saw a big back up generator outside of the ferm a while ago.... guesss it was for something else....
