Sweet. I've been hanging on to RA 15/16 to do a three year vertical with Atrial and Red Atrial.

Sorry for the ignorant question, but any chance this could stick around until next weekend (4/7) or does this fly out the door?

We did a raspberry blind tasting involving RA 15, 16, Red Atrial, Atrial Rubicite and Framboos Morte. Red Atrial blew everything out of the water. And I was very surprsied how poorly Red Angel aged in my opinion. Both years finished at the bottom for me. But you are gonna have a fun time with that vert. Verts, blind tastings and side by sides are some of the most enjoyable parts of bottle shares.

We did the exact same tasting with the exact same results. I was shocked at how much the color and fruit had faded from the 2015 RA.

The 2015 started with considerably less fruit than the 2016. 2.5 lbs per gallon in the 2015 vs. 4 lbs per gallon in the 2016.

No one knows for sure obviously. But Angel of Darkness, which was released in a similar manner, stuck around for a week I think. Though maybe the additional people coming for the cellar sale the next day, plus the Red Angels sold in verticals, will change that.

Popped a 2016 the other night and it was amazing. Did they use the same amount of fruit per gallon this year or more?

    You mean this share?

Unfortunately compared to the likes of Red Atrial and Atrial, Red Angel doesnt hold a candle to them. I am ok missing out this year.

Show of hands. How many folks think it will last the weekend? The past two that did not allow presale did (AoD, Dark Arts).

They're making more of their Angel series sours, so I think it will last at least the weekend.

If it weren't for the cellar sale on Saturday that may draw in more people, plus part of that cellar sale being Red Angel verticals (thus drawing some of the current vintage bottles out) I'd say absolutely. I'd still say its really likely to last past the weekend.

I would guess Sunday. I think RA is prob the most popular of all the angels so who knows.

I think you are right, but AoD has been popular as far as lines go.

I did. Release went smooth as usual. 2017 Red Angel tasted a lot like 2016 to me. Which was great.
