@HouseofWortship has it right - many smaller shops are getting theirs this week and not all Binny's has it yet.

    Oh this was pretty cool....

Was out KBS'n on Saturday in the burbs, went and got my stuff at a couple Binnys and was happy. Was headed to the gym and decided to stop in to Famous Liquors in Lombard as its right next to the gym, just for kicks...

Me: "You got any KBS left?"

Shifty looking dude behind counter with arms crossed: "Do you have our store card?"

    Me: "Yeah, I've got one"

Shifty guy: (points at other register guy) "He can help you out"

Me: (to other register guy) "Hey, do you still have some KBS?"

Other register guy: "Yeah, I can sell you a bottle"

Me: (to myself.... a bottle.. cool, thanks guy.)

    Register guy: "Ok, it's $11.68

    Me: "For ONE?"

Register guy: "Yeah man, its an expensive beer!"

Me: (literally laughing inside) "No thanks then man, have a good one" *walks out*

Hey guy- 1) I JUST left Binny's where single bottles were 6.99 and a 4-pack was 24.99. and 2) Don't talk to me like I don't know what kind of beer I'm buying- "its an expensive beer"?? Hahaha thanks dickhead.

    Price gouging is fun!

North burbs people, Jim's reported also releasing Parabola with the KBS tonight if anyone is still looking. Not sure what's left still after 7pm release, but worth a shot.

That's almost as bad as the Foremost in Lombard
    $15 for BCBS
    $100 for '15 BC Prop
    $130 for '15 Rare
Over $30 for Darkness and Pentagran
    $40 for Firestone XX
I enjoy asking the prices about the stuff behind the counter and then laughing at them

Oh man I've been to that spot. I remember seeing some Firestone Walker stuff on the shelf... nothing crazy, Velvet Merkin or something... getting kind of stoked at the sight, then walking over and seeing the sticker prices on them. Those guys can fuck right off.

Those prices are absurd. Does any of that stuff move at all?

It's $100 for the infected Prop, and $200 for the non-infected.

I know this isn't a stout, but as Bravo got some mentions in this thread, I figured I'd park this here. BA Imperial Pajamas was incredible this year so I'm looking forward to this release tomorrow.

Not really, but I don't go there very often. Usually hit up Ardmore or 20 West.

Yes '15 is infected and they did not reduce the price. I know they also had infected coffee for like $30.

found some parabola at naperville binny's yesterday (and a floor stack of waldos). MIGHT still be there today.

regarding gouging...every now and then i'll pull the trigger for something overpriced when my time is more important than driving around all day to get a couple bottles of BCS etc. The last couple years i've just paid $15 for a couple bottles to go at world of beer. sometimes time is worth $5..But when prices are insane, that i can't do!

Hey all, traveling to Chicago next week for my birthday. First time visiting, and will be staying in Wicker Park and touring the city. Can anyone recommend a good place to buy bottles (and draughts) of good Great Lakes/Midwest area stouts (BA and otherwise) and barleywines I wouldn't otherwise have access to in So. Cal.?

I've read about Binney's, but not certain which one would be the best to check out. Any other recommendations of bottle shops and pours would be much appreciated!
