Is that a brewery? If so, don't believe I've seen anything from them around here.

    Cheers!

Yes -- the word is also a link to their Maibock listing here at BA.

They're in Denver, and I know they distribute to Wisconsin, so I imagine you could find it. Might not be on shelves yet, either.

Funny, but a lot of brews from the Front Range does not make it here to GJ. I'll check in to it more. Thanks.

    Cheers!

I have a couple, including some canned Dead Guy, so I'm good to go with my comparison. Too bad about the Cultivator, though, I was counting on it.

May as well pick it up then, and post your impressions.

I'm still not on board about it myself, but am willing to put it to the test.

Been years since I've last had it. Enjoyed it at the time.

    Cheers!

I have Summit's and Capital's maibocks. I've had the Summit before (last spring IIRC), but it will be interesting to compare them. I would also like to get a German import to kind of set a baseline, so I'm still looking for that. If I come across Schell's Maifest during my search, I'll grab that one, too. (Although a 4 beer tasting will be interesting... I wonder if the last beer in line will benefit or be penalized!)

After a couple stops today I am all set for the tasting. Got a Capital maibock, Hoffbrau maibock and a Einbecher maibock. Also grabbed a Rogue Dead Guy for a comparison. Looking forward to this!

Pug Ryan's Hideout Helles Bock should be available to you. It's the only definite one I've found in Colorado Springs so far (although Dead Guy Ale and Andygator have been found, but they seem suspect to me as being real maibocks)...

I grabbed 2 singles at Archer Liquors on the South Side - but I've seen the 6-packs at Binnys as well.

I hope those singles aren't leftovers from last year (or worse), I've seen very old stock on shelves all throughout the winter. I've had older bottles in the past (many passed off as new stock) and the beer develops big oxidation.

I do not believe so, but I'll have to double check tonight.

Ok, so if I'm reading this code right ...
It was bottled on the 16th day (016) of the 17th year (Q is the 17th letter of the alphabet). Not sure the shelf life of these, but I should be fine with this. I pulled it out of a brand new case, so I wasn't too worried.

Yah -- HB's dating is as bad as Anchor's -- not sure how it works, but most imports are (reportedly) good for a year, so if your calculations are correct, you're good.

Someone had the decoding formula for HB a while back -- anyone remember?
Normally I'd agree with this, but how do you know the case was new? I found an SN Summerfest 12 pack on a shelf the other day (Hey, I didn't know this was out yet)... bottled in 2015! And the store where I found it wasn't even open in 2015, so that thread leads back to a distro with very old stock on their floor.

Meh, the only thing I can find so far is Dead Guy. I don't really want to have my first Maibock be one that most say is not truly representative of the style. I'll keep looking! If anybody knows something specific to CT distro, let me know...
