Not any chance the line is even 1/3 this deep by 4:30. Maybe if you take into account those who already passed through at opening but as a point of reference when you pull up, @Sip404 .....If the line is around the lot, down the sidewalk but has not turned down Clay yet that's a good reference of around 125 people. If it's past the body shop and reaches the red brick building next to it then you're looking at probably 150-175 range.

Thanks. I know that there are almost always fewer people than I think there are but with the national attention of Oreo Horns and all that. Again, appreciate the info folks.

2:15 ish Line Update for the curious and not following BTV. Just a few people shy of hitting the sidewalk. My guesstimate is +/- 75.

That 2:30-3:30 rush is about to hit so I'm expecting easily wrapped down Clay at opening but don't get worried if you are going. That will be well under half, probably more like 1/3, of what's needed for guaranteed cans.

Final counts for today. Nice to see they came in on the higher end of estimate for Horns. I typically peg them for being closer to the lower side.

20 mins to go and last photo of someone in line was just passing the auto shop on Clay. Probably tightening up with doors opening in a bit so my guesstimate would be in the 175-200 as of 3:30.

Just got in line. It's not around the auto repair corner anymore. This might be another Extra Kreme situation.

Appears more Horns than I expected to be sold today. Unless some are hiding there's maybe 20 cases left @ 7pm. Hardly a line. Surprising nearly 700 people have come through today in 3 hours. In betting there were more than a few than made multiple trips through.

Horns apparently sold out before 8 tonight, so they must have moved fairly fast.

My guess is that there were some unscrupulous people riding the line a couple of times. Although, I thought the process was one of the better rollouts from Veil. I hope they expand on today's approach of lower limits more in the future.

Has there been consideration of hand stamping or some other method to prevent folks from making multiple trips through the line or it's no big deal as long as the beer sells out? Never been there, am just curious.

Only problem with that is everything is only temporary.

Apparently they have one system where they only allow a card to be used for payment once that day. But obviously cash, multiple cards, multiple people... where there's a will.

Still, I can't believe they worked that many people through in a day. I'm impressed.

Hard to believe there is any truth to this. Sounds like something someone could have made up just because it sounds feasible.

I suggested they do that in Behind the Veil. Pretty easy to blacklist names and credit cards of people who line jump or attempt to buy multiple allotments but I'm sure that would slow down the line.

And obviously most of the regulars who show up every week for releases fall into this category but the end of this article sums up those who often ruin it for others.

"An avid beer trader, (JohnnyBeerGuy) heads to The Veil nearly every Tuesday, always buying the full allotment, so he can trade for heralded beers from across the country."

I agree 100% - totally anecdotal, but someone on BTV claimed someone in front of him got booted for doing this and that was how they caught him.
