I just hope one of these reality-hating screamo bands sacrifices a cat on stage or something cool like that.

Based on your comment, it doesn't seem like you'd be anywhere near the stage to even see that cool something. I'm not a huge fan of the bands they typically schedule but I have no issue with them playing while I am there. If people are so opposed to the bands, why even purchase a ticket to the event then? As has been expressed, music has always been a part of DLD.

Exactly this. Its not hard to avoid the bands/stages. For those complaining, save your money and your walez for your next walez bro bottle share.

Apologies, but this is one argument that does annoy me year after year.

It isn't a big enough deal to miss out on my favorite annual beer event. That said, I'm still going to complain about it and state my opinion that DLD would be better off without them.

Screamo is a genre that evolved from emo and punk/hardcore. Not related to death metal bands like what play at DLD typically.

It was pretty hard to avoid them unless I wanted to stand in pouring rain all day. Of course the metal tent was the last one to fill up and the easiest one to gain shelter in, I wonder why...

Learn something new every day! I'm equal-opportunity, I'll still rock out with my stout out.

Last year was the only time they had the main stage under a tent, and that was because of rain. That's normally not the case. That tent is also the furthest from the entrance, so that is the actual reason it was the last to fill up.

Edit: Actually I take that back. I do think the main stage was in the first tent last year. My bad.

I think that regardless of location it would be the last to fill up. I mean what percentage of attendees do you think realistically want to listen to those bands?

I'm confused. Do you not understand why metal bands play at Dark Lord Day?

I assume because Nick Floyd likes metal?

So do you think that Nick Floyd is sitting in his office right now like "You guys, cancel the metal bands, Zach60614 says attendees hate metal. SOMEONE GET ZACH ON THE PHONE! I NEED TO KNOW WHAT BANDS ZACH WANTS!!"?

I'm confused. Do you really think I expect them to change anything? Are you aware that some people will point out things they don't like about a topic in an online discussion forum without any expectation of it having an effect on said topic? How is it any different than the posts saying get rid of the exotic variants and make more vanilla? Do you jump all over them? I find metal fans to be very defensive.

Plus everyone knows that 3 Floyd's doesn't care about feedback from their customers Hell, I'd expect if he read this he'd say they need to increase the volume.

In prior DLDs, there were people who would pay the admission fee (30 bucks or whatever) strictly for the music for the most part. People who didn't have an interest in the DL release. Obviously, with the recent move to bundling the costs these people have been effectively priced out but if FFF moved back to the prior pricing model, I'm certain they'd come back to see the bands.
