Anyone know if they distributed Headway since that first time? I haven't bought beer in CT in a while (away on vacation and a friend from Boston made a Trillium visit for me on way down) so was just wondering if it was consistent yet. Thanks

Stopped in today for the first time. Cool space though seems pretty out of the way for most in regards to off the highway driving. Grabbed some Coyote...the Galaxy batch must have been much, much better if people were comparing it to a Tree House brew.

Love Headway, that's going to be my go to shelf beer once it's widely available. This Coyote is tasty, and super solid for the price, but wouldn't make my 40 minute drive for it again.

I don't know why anyone would compare either Headway or the Galaxy hopped Space Coyote to Treehouse. I don't think they were anything like that, which is a very good thing IMHO. We have more than enough CT brews going for the Tree House style IPA.

Went to Counter Weight today for first time after a hike at Sleeping Giant. The space looks great. It's really large between the upper and lower tasting rooms. There is an excellent view of the brewing space walking between the two tasting spaces. I had my wife and 4 and 6 year old. Very family friendly as breweries go in terms of space to spread out and not feel the kids were getting in the way at the same time. I had the original Space Coyote and the Pilsner which were very good (Headway I'd had before and is excellent also). Left with a 4 pack of the Void stout and the new Space Coyote.

Looking at their Facebook page...they're only open on the weekend? I'm driving past on Wednesday, and was hoping to stop in. Is it weekends only?

I finally got to visit this weekend. Took a nice stroll from my home to the brewery. Parking is going to be nightmare in the future for this brewery. Good thing that Sherman Ave is really wide so parking might be allowed there. Love the 2-level tap room. The second floor is banging with the view of the coolship and the tanks. Really cool spot. I was just a bit annoyed by how slow it was to order a glass. They need to start having more credit card swiping machines. I had the Grisette and I thought it was good. I was hoping for a lighter beer but it was more Belgian heavy to me. Was hoping for a slight tartness, less sweetness and crispier mouthfeel.

One of their last posts mentioned expanding operating hours soon, weekends for the time being.

This morning I got an email (distro list) from Counter Weight with some updates. I was sort of wondering what the status was for Headway, and it was addressed. They are still working on consistently perfecting it, and once they do, they will begin to ship out larger amounts.

I'm happy to be patient, as I was a bit turned off from one larger retailer in southern CT Friday, as they were limiting Headway to 1 can per person, plus you had to buy something from the floor (obviously that does not have to do with Counter Weight).

Ha, exactly. While I had been fortunate enough to score a couple 4-packs of Headway the first time it was distributed, I will not be going crazy to seek it out and purchase when there are 1 or 2 can limits. If that's going to be the game the larger stores are playing until it is readily available (potentially similar to that of Sea Hag), I'll be happy to grab a pint or two on tap locally.

I thought that 2nd run of Headway was fantastic. Reminded me a ton of Trillium, felt it was very melon heavy. Had it both in cans as well as draft. Really hope that continues.

I had Workhorse pilsner the other night and it was really fantastic! It's going to be my go-to summer beer. It's citrusy, light, crisp and refreshing. Classic.

I completely agree. On the other hand has anyone come remotely close to pulling that off? If I see two juicy, trailblazer, of no filter at the store I pass on it. I like what relic has been doing but it's very different than a tree house brew. Again not necessarily a bad thing.

The newer Relic offerings compare favorably with Trillium but lack the soft mouthfeel of TH. I found Two Juicy to be a well crafted, if not one dimensional, brew. Trailblazer and #noflter are horrible. Astringent bitter train wrecks. Drain pour for TB. Gave 4 of my sixer of #no filter to buddies. Couldn't even muster up the conscience to send it as an extra.

Excited to be going to the brewery for the first time on a swing through Connecticut Saturday. I see they open at noon. Are cans usually available throughout the day on a weekend?

Thank God! I don't work far from counter weight. Would love to be able to stop by after work.

Yes, but check their social media accounts for what cans they are selling. It is sounding like Headway is most likely going to be canned for distribution only (stores). They have had it on tap in the taproom as well.
