Breakfast beers are BG&E, Birth of Tragedy Akmel Nuri & DBD. Pretty legit.

Was that a special Birth variant made for the event or are you confusing it with Genealogy: Akmel Nuri?

HF just posted on Instagram that it's a previously unreleased variant.

The breakfast was great. The first duck course was unreal good. As for the beers, Maple BG&E was awesome, as was DBD. Birth of Tragedy Akmel Nuri was also great but I thought the other two were on another level. Having Shaun Hill describe the story and process of how the beers were made was just another great addition/surprise. Such a well done event!

Another great event...agreed Maple BG&E and DBD were sublime, but the Maple BG&E was on a different level...what CBS strives to be...And the breakfast was fantastic as we've come to expect. My favorite beer event of the year!

This is the first year I am going to pass... I think I've been 6 breakfasts and after last year I don't think I can justify the price anymore (even though it did go down).

What didn't you like about last years? The only complaint I would have was the actually stoutest list (post breakfast) wasn't as crazy as years past

I did not attend the breakfast last year after attending the previous 3 do to the price as well and did not regret it at all . What me and my buddies did was went to the hangover pub on Green street for brunch and headed over to the Armsby at 2 walked right with no line and everything I wanted was still pouring . Price did go down from last year but it's still 135 with fees and just can not justify it .

I hear you guys. This is my first year going and I'm pretty giddy for the experience, but the price is up there so I probably won't make it a concretely annual thing. That being said, I'm really looking forward to hearing from the brewers and drinking the beer itself. The element of surprise has me feeling like a kid before his first trip to Disney World.

Looking forward to this year's Stoutfest breakfast. Will likely just go for regular pours in future years.

Really enjoy the format and the stories and information from the brewers. Stouts are my absolute favorite beer 'medium' and will continue to imbibe at Armsby Abbey. I always leave satisfied with food, brew and service.

Having said this...wish they'd bring back there Brewer's Dinners. Really enjoyed the two I attended in the past.

Agree with you that the stoutfest list wasn't as crazy as past years. So getting a seat at the bar and first dibs on pours wasnt / isnt great selling point. Plus I think the food is a little stale. Some duck dish with a barley hash, etc. Feels like I had that or some sort of variation of each dish before.
