Another trip to Edinburgh last night, for the football this time with the 22 year old. Had...

Brewdog - Jet Black Heart (pint), smooth, coffee, lovely,
Belhaven - Twisted Grapefruit IPA (can), fresh, fruity, liked,
Fallen - Beeline - Honey, Pear & Guava Saison (500ml bottle), fantastic, best beer of the night,
Pilot - Mochaccino Stout (pints x 3) - excellent as always.

Last night's stay in session was -

Tiny Rebel One Inch Punch that was mini and mighty like Shaolin Buddha finger.

Spitting Feathers Old WavertonIan that was a nice smokey liquorice stout.
Oskar Blues Pinner that was unbalanced especially considering how glorious the TR OIP was.

Tiny Rebel Cwtch that was lovely.

Nøgne Pale Ale which was dull

Brewdog Hop Fiction I want to hate on BD at the moment but this is not a reason, great bomber of hoppy ale.

Hawkshead Bourbon Barrel Aged Northern Imperial Stout & Buxton Subliminal RIS both rich sweet sweet strong stouts

Though I think I may have over done it slightly so I better have hair of the dog tonight lol

Seen Fuller's are doing London Pride Unfiltered "for added flavour", kegged and chilled "for added refreshment", dry hopped "for added character".

    Last night was

Tweeds Hopster which was a nice but had no place having hop in the name

Brewsmith Gold again a nice enough beer but a think a true golden ale like mild only works on cask

Thornbridge Tart the best bottle I've had from them and a quality sour

Alaskan Smoked Porter love that the brewery ages it for

    Chimay white Tripel good stuff

& tonight to settle my nerves to get some sleep before my sat sun long shifts Evil Twin's Wet Dream soooooo coffee I dunked a biscuit in it
    Seriously

Over the last week enjoyed mostly the following

Cloudwater DIPA V13, keg and can, did prefer the canned version.
    Stone IPA from Tesco
Tiny Rebel Stay Puft - always good
Northern Monk Heathen - excellent IPA in the NE style
Buxton Cali Belgique - even with a bottled on date of June last year, still a good beer
Lervig barley wine 2014 - amazing.
Torrside white barley wine - interesting, nice and creamy.

Also for any Manchester based people yesterday I checked out Reasons to be Cheerful in Burnage. Good, friendly new bar.

Had a couple of pints of Hydes Mild last night. This afternoon, I'll be drinking some 19th-century Scottish Shilling Ales.

Had a Caledonia Double Hop lager from Tennents tonight, probably one of their better beers but it was more like a pale bitter

About to crack a cali-belgique ipa from stone

Picked up a few treats for the week ahead from Real Ale in Twickenham today. Some cans from Cloudwater, Northern Monk, Tiny Rebel and Wild Weather Ales. Also as they're doing free growlers i went for a litre of Deya's new IPA, The Very Hoppy Caterpillar which I'm looking forward to.

Half of the Very Hoppy Caterpillar last night, half this evening. Really amazing stuff, probably the best of these new ridiculously fruity New England IPAs I've had.

My week lens was topped off with a fresh bottle of yellow belly sundae bought from a visit to the Buxton tap house on Saturday. Beautiful stuff.

Following on from my after work guilty pleasure of 3 pints of Amstel in the sun yesterday i supped a can of Cloudwater 3.5% pale ale which was decent, but still obviously not as fruity and punchy as their other offerings. Finished with a can of the ever reliable Fourpure Pils to make it 5 beers to compensate 5 hours in the same room yesterday afternoon.

Cans of St Austell Korev and Mama's Little Yella pils from oscar blues

The Korev was the better beer, although I have no idea how old the OB was, its BBE was in this august so I suspect its a good few months older
