Lawson's posts a "Monthly Update" on the 1st of every month. You can find it on their website, or social media. Very clear regarding what's being released and when/where you can find it. Incredibly helpful for planning a couple weeks out!

Wondering if this thread will remain relevant with any release tips. Either way, here is the April news:

We are thrilled to inform you that the Waitsfield Development Review Board has granted our local permits for the new brewery and taproom on Carroll Road. The picture associated with this post is our vision for the new Lawson’s Finest Taproom!

Lawson’s Finest honors nine years of brewing by hosting an anniversary celebration on April 8th! All of the details can be found here, and we look forward to sharing amazing beers and having a great time with you while raising money for two great causes! There will be special beer tappenings around the area, including unique casks of Fayston Maple Imperial Stout with tart cherry at The Mad Taco Waitsfield and Sugarbush Castlerock Pub (expected tappings 4/8 11am).

The week of April 10th is frothy at the Craft Brewers Conference in Washington DC. Special events featuring Lawson’s Finest include the 4/10 Brewers Association Hill climb where guild reps from all 50 states visit elected officials to discuss policy; 4/12 at Jackpot with a Vermont Tap Takeover; and 4/13 at Churchkey with other notable VT & WY breweries.

The week of April 17th debuts Super Session #8 (draft only) in Vermont, Connecticut and Massachusetts. This is a special batch of Super Session using copious amounts of Mosaic hops. Cans are expected this summer! Between now and the summer, Super Session #2 (which features Amarillo hops) will be brewed and packaged in cans and draft.

Beginning April 27th, we will release bottles and draft of Kiwi IPA. Brewed with a massive charge of New Zealand grown Nelson Sauvin & Pacific Jade hops, Kiwi Double IPA brings you the terroir of our hop loving friends in the southern hemisphere. Bottles can be found at The Warren Store, Hunger Mountain Co-op, Beverage Warehouse, and Craft Beer Cellar Waterbury.

During this month, you’ll find Sip of Sunshine IPA and Super Session #2 cans and draft around the states of Vermont and Connecticut, and Sip of Sunshine IPA cans and draft in Massachusetts.

New crop of hops are in! You may have noticed a slight difference recently in the flavor profile of our flagship beer Sip of Sunshine IPA. In early February, we began using our 2016 crop of hops in this beer. Every year both the quality and character of hops and malts that go into our beers vary, as they are seasonal crops. This variation is one of the biggest challenges in the brew house to create a beer that is consistent batch to batch and year to year. In addition, each year’s crop includes numerous lots of the same variety of hops, each originating from a different farmer or different location. Even individual lots can vary widely in characteristics. We love the fact that we create a living product! However, it makes it hard to present exactly the same beer with every batch. In our sensory analysis, the hop lots that we are currently brewing with present a more earthy and dank character than the last several year’s crops. As a result, the tropical fruitiness in the aroma and flavor are a bit more subdued. With our first brew in April, we are bringing in a new lot of hops and Sean is working to optimize just the right blend of different lots to create the most tropical fruit-forward and lupulin-laden experience that we can deliver!

We were humbled to have landed Super Session #2 in the Championship round of the Brewing News National Session IPA competition, and Hopcelot IPA in the Final Four of the National IPA competition! Thank you for all of the support for superb beer!

The Vermont Brewers Association celebrates Green Mountain Beer Week from May 15-21. The evening of May 17th will feature a Lawson’s Finest beer dinner at Whetstone Station in Brattleboro Vermont. On May 19th join Lawson’s Finest at Kingdom Brewing for an evening of Sap beer. Advanced tickets are required for both events and are on sale now!

Quick question. Was looking over the anniversary bottle/can release, and of course saw several things that interested me. I understand that I can't purchase any of those items without a ticket during the event, but was wondering if there was any chance or possibility of buying any of those beers otherwise (after the event), if we don't have a ticket. The wife and I will be in the area as part of our honeymoon trip, and as we'll be in the area, of course I'd love to be able to buy some of the special anniversary beers, if there is availability or leftovers. No worries whatsoever if that's not a possibility, but thought it couldn't help to ask. The anniversary event sounds great, and like everyone else on the planet, I'm a fan of your beers (what I've been able to sample - several SOS iterations, the maple stout, and that's about it). Regardless, congratulations on your 9th anniversary, and here's to you guys making great beer for next 90 years (my apologies for the shameless sucking up, but I am a big fan of your beers, when I can try them).

Head over to Mad River Barn, they have several of what was released on tap. Mad Taco as well.

Does anyone know how long SOS stays around at the Warren Store this time of year? I was going to head over there on Thursday but I was hoping to stop in at the 10:00 HT drop at Beverage Warehouse first. If SOS is selling out quickly in Warren, then I'll probably skip the HT and head straight to the Warren Store.

In my recent experience, SoS has been hanging around a lot lately. You should be able to find it on a Thursday. Crossroads will probably have some in Waterbury too.

I was in Warren last week and they had SoS every time I popped in. Lots of places around there and Waitsfield have it so you ought to be okay.

Did anyone else get Triple Sunshine yesterday? I was shocked that my timing was so good this year. In years past, I was never lucky enough to be here for a Double or Triple Sunshine release.

I haven't tried it yet but I'm looking forward to it.

Where did you get your triple Sunshine?

I've never try a double or triple Sunshine before.

It's tough enough just trying to get a pack of SoS.

Any stores you guys can share around the Hartford/West Hartford area that carries the Sunshine?

    Thanks,

I found it at The Warren Store in Warren, VT. As far as I know the only other stores that get the Lawson's bottles are Beverage Warehouse in Winooski, Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury and Hunger Mountain Co-Op in Montpelier. I'm not aware of anyplace in CT that gets the bottle releases.

Getting Sip Of Sunshine seems to be much easier this year than it was in years past. Almost every store I went into from the published list had it. Most had a limit between 1 and 4 4-packs.

As for the Double and Triple Sunshine, it seems like they don't release them all that often. They've never been available during my past visits. I wasn't expecting any this time either but I was thrilled to find that Triple was available this week. I only make it out here once a year.

Only Sip and Super session was distro'd to CT. All other Lawson's beers are only in a small portion of VT.

How do you find list of stores that carry SoS in Hartford area?

Not sure if the Lawson's website is updated. Follow the social media of multiple stores in the area. Harvest, Harvest Country, the Harvest, Wise Old Dog, Crazy Bruce's, Kays, Parkview all get it when a Hartford county drop happens. I don't tend to buy it, but there seems to be large drops happening more recently.

Thanks for the info. How do you find delivery dates for the stores? Anything online? Or call the stores to check?

FWIW, Sean Lawson was in town this evening at CBC Belmont, talking and pouring. He brought a few cases of Kiwi, which is frickin amazing.
