    Hi all,

Visiting Hilton Head Island fin late April (from MN). Looking for some input on must visit breweries and craft-centric restaurants in the area. Would also appreciate any tips on bottle shops to visit and seasonal releases to be on the lookout for.

Thanks in advance for your help!

There's not much, at least that I found when I was down there a year ago. The Lodge in the center of the island (basically at the entrance to Sea Pines) had a solid selection. The restaurant for Hilton Head Brewery is right next door, but apparently you want to go to the actual brewery which is closer to the entrance of the island. We weren't impressed with the restaurant for Hilton Head Brewery at all, but the brewery itself is supposed to be much better. There's a World of Beer, which I swear wasn't there when I was. No idea about bottle shops. The one shop that looked decent that I tried to go to apparently went out of business (we didn't go as it was already out of business when we were there... though we didn't know that).

The breaker series of IPAs from Hilton Head Brewing Company are great. Other than that, go to Savannah for beer.

Salt March and RiverDog.......Southern Barrel is decent. Not really any bottle shops. WoB or Lodge for beer bars. Hilton Head Brewing is closed and head brewer is gone.

Really, Hilton Head Brewing is closed down/brewer gone? Had one of their Breaker Series IPAs fall of last year.

They aren't closed. They were for a little bit after the hurricane but they are now open again. However, it does look like they do have a new brewer. I really like their beer and recommend it!

I'm going down next week too. We go every April. As stated, the lodge will probably be the best option, and they do fill growlers. Harris teeter/whole food usually has some good options, at least for a guy from Jersey.
Ideally, if you're driving, we would meet and trade Kane/carton for surly/bent paddle.

Ok I really hate to do this.... I recommend Hilton Head Brewery to a lot of people on here last year. At that time their break series IPAs were top notch. Well the guy who brewed them left. They have a new Brewer and their stuff now is garbage. I went this week and had a break series IPA ( J Street) it was so bad it tasted like a six month old Sierra Nevada pale. I really hate this because I loved their stuff. I even messaged the brewery and told them it was really bad and their response was it looks good to us but what didn't you like. As of right now I would say stay away from Hilton Head Brewery.
Now the world of beer right outside palmetto dunes opened last February and has some decent stuff on tap. The lodge has the best tap selection and surprisingly some restaurants have a great selection I found bourbon county on tap.

Last the Brewer that left Hilton ahead Brewery who created the break series stuff is openeing a brewery called two friends brewing so keep an eye out for that in the future.

We are flying down, but I am going to check a bag with some beer, mostly NE Hops, and MN local IPAs. I could definitely check a bottle or two of either Surly or Bent Paddle. What dates will you be there?

Also, thank you all for your replies... Sounds like Hilton Head Brewery might be a pass! Hoping we can find some Westbrook Key Lime Pie Gose around, or some other interesting locals.

We are flying into Savannah, and I believe there are some good stops there, also, considering a drive to Charleston.

Plenty of key lime pie gose, just had some today. We are finishing up our stay, leaving Friday. There are a few cases of KBS at Whole Foods, may not be a big deal to you, but it was hard to find and overpriced in NJ. The lodge and world of beer were the beer highlights of the week. Lots of old beer sitting in on the shelves here. Bought a few 4/6 packs of local beer, nothing great. Enjoy the week and hope the weather continues to be awesome.

The Kroger across from Palmetto Dunes has one of the best beer selections on the island.
