as far as the beer goes, green flash sea to sea lager 4% abv. and tasty enough.

Yes, they are presently marketed as Session IPAs (e.g., Founders All Day IPA).

My favorite 'session' IPA is Carton Boat Beer but that is mostly just sold in New Jersey.

I am personally not a fan of Light beers but if I was at a summer party and the host had Bud Light, Miller Lite and Coors Light as the beer choices I personally would reach for Coors Light.

    Cheers!

Rather than drinking lighter beer, I would drink less of the beer I like.

...although a summer of pilsner, Berliner weisse and gose doesn't sound so bad!

I imagine lower abv saisons might be a good way to go, they should be less calories than an equivalent abv session IPA/porter etc. No idea if there are any available to you

Where are the people in this forum getting their calorie #'s from? I'm actually very curious about this. They don't seem readily available and maybe they should be.

Google calories in beer and there's quite a lot of stuff available.

:astonished: They're on the major brewers' website, as I linked to above:
(and on most "light beer" labels, aren't they?)

I know I'm likely in the minority on this site but I wish there were beer labeling requirements which detailed ingredients, calories, sugar, etc. Even if breweries just posted it to their website would be fine imo. Just like I want to know what is in the food I eat, I would like to know what is in the beverages I drink.

I've done some research on calories in beer, brewery websites and other sources, and it seems standard beers (4.5 -5%) consistently have about 12 calories per ounce. Does this mean I can't have a DIPA? Of course not. Take the 16 oz can and decant half of it into an 8 oz resealable bottle.

Same with ten fidy. A six ounce pour meets the op requirement at 150 cal.

Kvas might be an option, if you can find it. It's not going to be terribly flavorful or satisfying, but it is rather low in calories and alcohol. Also, the ones I've seen (in a Ukranian grocery store) were in resealable plastic bottles.

Me? I'd rather drink half of a real beer and dump the rest.

Best solution around, take your total intake by half and just drink good stuff. HA AH.
On a serious note roll with Guinness, its not a bad option for the calories.

Yuengling Light is ok, but IMO none are truly bad like Steel Reserve kinda bad just a bit bland.

I think Founder's All Day IPA would be my go to.

On a different note OP, why not just eat less food and keep the beer? For instance, during the week I usually lose weight while still drinking the same due to my food intake (it's the weekends that get me). Get your proteins and fats from food. Grill up some chicken and get the pre-made salads and you're all set.

Well that's fine, but be sure to understand that that works as an additional tax to your tiny local breweries. As a rule of thumb most regulations and tax code exemptions are far easier on the biggest players budget (they make up for a smaller percentage of their budget).
