Hi all. I'll be hanging out in downtown St Louis next week between Cardinals and Blues games. Looking for the best brewery in the downtown area, prefer walking distance from Busch/Scott Trade, or easy access from MetroLink. I usually hit up the Flying Saucer, but would like to try something new, unless there's nothing else worth my time.
Schlafly Tap Room or 4 Hands are the closest and a good call. Alpha isn't bad but nothing crazy. Hair of the Dog is downtown and usually has a great tap list. Square 1 is a short Uber ride and a cool place close to downtown.
I was just there for the first time in March to celebrate my birthday. He nailed everything for downtown. I would strongly recommend going to Side Project Cellar and Perennial, but those are NOT within walking distance. About a 10-15 minute drive to each location.
Urban Chestnut (the one on Washington) is a cheap Uber ride. Side Project is accessible on Metrolink, with a 10-minute walk at the end. The Bridge also has a good tap list downtown.
Thanks again to everyone for the info. I'll be sure to update everyone after my trip. Oh and... Let's Go Blues!
If you're looking for beer bars, my favorites are Bailey's Range for burgers and 29 local taps. Also, the Bridge Tap House and Wine Bar if you're looking for a fancier meal.
Thanks for the input from everybody. I had a good time at 4 Hands, and sampled a lot of locals elsewhere around downtown. I wanted to add that The Wine and Cheese Place in Clayton is a top notch bottle shop. Highly recommended.
