I've never been to Sheffields before. I was wondering just how packed this place gets, especially considering the tap list selection they have for today. Any idea how much capacity is? Anyone there now that can speak to how busy it is? Thanks!

Have been here since 530. Had a templeton, coffee, and 14 barleywine. Don't think anything has been kicked to be honest. Very few people that were here gave a damn about bourbon county, which I suppose given the circumstance is not surprising.

Got there around 5:30 as well. Completely agree. Barley anyone drinking bourbon county. Everything was still pouring when I left. That templeton is so damn good.

I got there around 5:45 and it was easy to get plenty of BCBS. I could only have a few, but probably could have drank Prop, Coffee & Templeton for most of the night. Templeton and Coffee were both delicious.

I had hoped there was an outside shot I'd be able to score a bottle of 2014 Prop, but they said a table of about 10 guys that were there around Noon cleared them out of it. Oh well...and who knows how much they charged for it.

Odds are half of this party didn't make it into the gates for the actual game.

I wonder if muggers have started to schedule their robberies around BCBS/big stout releases knowing how toasted people are when they leave.

Is the distinction necessary? You could have just said "Wrigleyville during a Cubs homestand."

They had 2014 Prop at the event down the street at Merkle's on Saturday ... it was $100 for the 22oz bomber. I got there when it opened and was able to split one with a guy ... 11 oz for $50 seemed like a justifiable price. They had 5 bottles and were gone pretty soon after opening.

Not sure how much they were at Sheffield's but i would guess similar.

They must have dropped the price substantially on the Prop 14. I'm pretty sure somebody asked them about prices on Facebook and they said they were looking for $230 for it...

I think they decided to price with some honor ... not to go all the way to market value

I'm pretty sure it's easier for them just to do the usual schedule of around 2-4 am Thursday through Saturday. Plenty of available targets and no need to follow what the craft beer releases are.

One could also make the argument of why would you mug someone who just spent $100 on a beer. You know, depletion of cash reserves.

I hide all my money in my neck beard ... they'd never find it

But they could also make the argument that someone who shells out $100 for beer might be a rich target.
