I think they want to come off that they do care but at the end of the day their business is to sell beer so whether they sell it all on release day or later in the week they are making the same amount of $$ and it's rarely been the case they do not sell every can for that week's release.

if The Veil does not back up what they are saying then it's going to get off the rails quick. One week they say limits are per person per day but the next they make no mention of that restriction. They will mention in postings that if someone is caught cutting, going through the line more than once, leaving chairs to hold their spot in line then they will be asked to leave immediately yet it happens every week to some extent. They say these things yet they don't really enforce them as much as they should. I get you cannot have staff acting as security walking the line every week but there's often posts on BTV where people will mention someone is doing one (or multiple) of these and it starts big social media rant yet hardly anyone there speaks up and actually calls a person out. I see posts like, "will someone please call him out already" but the people who are making these comments won't do it themselves. Sure, you don't want to be "that guy/girl" but if no one enforces it (staff or the public) then it will keep happening and keep getting worse.

How long think the Hornswoggler will last on tap? Visiting in a few weeks, am guessing it will be long gone by then (especially with the anniversary event coming up).

Friendly reminder about a few things. First thing, TICKETS ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE. If your name is not on the will call list, you will not be allowed in. Trading/selling tickets is not suggested because again, tickets are non-transferable. We will not be making exceptions/changes to the will call list.

If you purchased two tickets under your name, you must be preset for your guest to attend. You also must be one of the two attendees to the event. You cannot give away both of your tickets.

If you purchased two tickets, you will not be allowed to pick up two allotments. You must have a guest with you. The purpose of being able to purchase two tickets under one name was to allow flexibility to the guests who might not know who they want to bring with them, not to take advantage of the system and get two allotments for yourself.

Again, from the beginning, we clearly stated that tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. No exceptions. Please keep this in mind. Our staff/security will not be making on-the-fly changes to the will call list and if you ask, you will be holding up the check-in process for everyone in line.

We are just about 2 weeks away! We can't wait!

I loved how after the ticket release there were several posts on Behind the Veil asking if Veil would make an exception for this or that circumstance...get the fuck out folks. If you travel for work can't make it, then you probably shouldn't have dropped 180 on a ticket. Sigh.

Is there a reason that Veil has been silent about tomorrow's release?

After last week's Monday announcement and the turnout of that I think they know (like they shouldn't already) that whether they announce it over the weekend or the day before then the people will come. Maybe some of them are tied up traveling to CBC today and will post the details later this evening. (I would assume that some key staff from The Veil will be attending).

At some point (maybe already?) the delay in posting the release until late Monday could be having the opposite effect where instead of people not planning to come because they don't know what's being released everyone plans to come because they're expecting a huge announcement. Don't people just hang out at Monkish at all hours on the chance they'll announce a release?

I'm pretty sure the first time they delayed this long, though, was to say "we had to dump 3 batches" so hopefully it's not more of that!

Final counts on today's release. It's fairly safe to say these should last a few days but I've been wrong before. Also for anyone who did not catch their post, The Veil is trying out new paper labels on CCTT instead of the wraps.

~Crucial Crucial Taunt Taunt – This is the double dry hopped version of our 8% house DIPA. ($17+Tax/4-pack; 3x 4-packs per person) Approx. 160 cases

    ~Fake Love – DIPA w/Simcoe, El Dorado, and Citra($16+Tax/4-pack; 3x 4-packs per person) Approx. 177 cases.

**And before you catch a price discrepancy in my post from earlier today and the finals counts I did do a straight copy and paste of each post so it looks like The Veil may have made a minor error in their original post and went back for an edit. I went back to search through past releases of CCTT and it has always been $17/4pk.

I did not attend but a lot of people commented about how extremely smooth last year's ran. They had two 3-hour sessions with a max of 150 people attending each session. Ticket ($100) included tastings of 30 beers, 26 of which were Guest beers (Trillium, Monkish, The Answer, Bissell Brothers, Tired Hands, Lawson's, Cycle, Other Half, Oxbow, Threes, Suarez Family, Ocelot Commonwealth) and I believe a couple meal coupons. Pretty sure it was almost all IPAs. Of the 300 tickets, 150 were done lottery style with interested people submitting their email/phone number and the rest were released at the tap room in batches of 20-30/day (or so) per a schedule released by the brewery.

With their following that has developed over the past year I can see them increasing the max attendance per session to higher than 150 this year. Maybe even add a 3rd session to help accommodate more people. if this year's goes as smoothly as last from what I heard and read then it should be an awesome time.

It was exactly at Tom describes. It did include 2 meal coupons (tacos and can't remember the other), Forever Summer Teku glass, 30 3oz pours, limited 1 per person so nothing ran out. Mostly IPAs and DIPAs but there were some goses and at least a lager or two.

It was expertly run, low key, lots of great beers (though if you're a beer trader you've probably had a lot of what was there, wasn't super limited TH, Bissell, Trill releases). The brewers were there to pour and have a good time too, so you could chat with the Monkish folks or the Bissell Brothers. With only 150 people the only time it felt crowded was when they were calling out the raffle prizes and everyone pressed into 1/2 of the taproom (this is why I'm a bit nervous for the anniversary party being 300 per session). Prizes were pretty cool - limited glassware, guest brewers brought special bottles, 4 pack Sleeping Forever, Private Tour with Matt for 4... They had an after party with special release kegs. I hope they swap that for for a 3rd session and only increase ticket amounts a bit.

Have they said anything about a can release next week, since its the week of their anniversary party and they'll be releasing cans for that?

I believe they have stated that there will be one for sure.

Edit: thanks for the info guys! I'm going to try and make it. Sounds like a good time even if it might be pretty crowded.

Horns was so good. I really enjoyed it. Not secondary market price good, but good. Cat boy was also really nice, but IreallydontwanttobeU was borderline amazing. Lions was just OK.

No, but speculations abound! I wouldn't put it past The Veil to do an anniversary week type thing. Release on Tuesday, they've already got a 3rd Thursday on 4/20 with special Sleeping Forever casks - that'd help move anything leftover. With this much lead time I know they could pull it off. Or they could say "no release this Tuesday to prep for the party." Nothing would surprise me here.
