After doing this for 5 years now I would definitely say it's become a crowded place on the BeerTube scene, but that adds more variety too! Haha it is similar to the craft beer scene in general too for sure. Wasn't trying to rant as much as just give a perspective from the "smaller" guy considering Chris came off as criticizing just about everyone doing beer reviews at this point. Oh well, what are ya gonna do.

    Haha! You got me.

My reasoning is that my scale leans heavy on high ratings, just as BeerAdvocate does. With dozens of beers rating over 95, I use +/- (only for those rating over 95) to help you see through the fog of beers that have the same number rating.

My friends make fun of me all the time for it. Viewers seem somewhat okay with it. I'm trying to slowly use it less for now.

Regardless of the Schitt we & your friends give you, we are still tuning in, so......

Kinda like Howard Stern. Some like you, and your bell & scale annoy the Schitt out of the rest of us, but we still tune in to see what you're gonna review next.

"Vodddkahh, straight up." "Four inches is fine." "That's my fayyyyvorite." "That's the hottest chick we've had up here." "T-O-P-L-E-S-S." "Baba Booey, Fla fla flow high."

Thanks for tuning in fellow Stern fan.

Hello everyone. Tragedy has struck my friend and host of Blackboard Beer Reviews, Erik Wood. His wife Janna passed away on Sunday morning unexpectedly. Please check out/share this (if you wish) GoFundMe set up to help relieve the financial stress of the medical expenses and funeral cost. Thank you all for reading this and for your support!

Darwin is my go-to as far as beer reviews go right now. They're short and sweet. He is well-spoken and that makes me want to continue listening. He also uses good descriptors for both taste and aroma. I also trust his reviews because some of the beers that he has reviewed I have also had and share similar views. He may not get super excited "bouncing off the walls" as far as personality goes, but his passion is not questionable.

However, I wish he would pour more beer into his glasses and produce larger heads (if the beer is head-friendly) to fully showcase the beer. Is there a reason as to why he does this? Does he share this beer with others or does he finish it off camera? Are the quarter pours to help concentrate aromas better?

He has been on a New England style IPA kick lately, I hope that subsides a bit and he gets back to to other styles as well. Overall he's a cool, knowledgeable dude.

Darwin is good but he focuses alot on beers that I can't easily get on the west coast. I tend to like to smaller more regional reviewers. I like the guys at Nerdsense. They have a good rapport and they just seem like good guys who I wouldn't mind having a beer with. Also, Allthingsbeer510 here in the bay area is really good.

I've unsubscribed to all but Darwin. He's the only one that reviews enough interesting beers to me with enough variety. His preferences and tasting notes tend to align with mine as well. I like his 'basic beers' series too. He also keeps it short and to the point without just repeating the same things over and over for 10-15 minutes.

Thanks for enjoying the channel. I really appreciate it. I will try to build a better head on brews. But yes, I do sometimes share brews and that's why the pours are short. I agree with you and do really enjoy a proper head on my brews.

It's a lot of location and what I can get. I try my best with what people can send from the West Coast. Cheers!

Agreed. They're killing it with the brews they review and how good their palates are.

Thank you so much. I really enjoy doing "Basic Beers." I really appreciate that you've chosen me as a beer reviewer. I try my best to keep the format short and simple.

Jows arcade. I am a hop head and he seems to always have the best hoppy beers on review. Seems like a pretty chill dude too, wouldn't mind cracking open a Pliny w.

Gregs beer reviews are cool too, I like how he brings ratebeer and gives feedback to the breweries.

    Honorable mentions: Darwin, Beergeek Nation

I hate to go off-topic, but a youtuber I appreciate reviews spirits (mostly scotch, but he often ventures out into other arenas) and I've often looked to his reviews before purchasing a new bottle of whiskey/whisky. His channel is called ralfystuff and it's just him and a camera. No sponsors, no slick production, just him and a camera.

I wish I could find a beer reviewer who was similar.
