Looks like Oud Beersel has a little something up their sleeve for us during TdG.

But wasn't it 5 or 6 breweries on the official buses 2015 as it was only one day? With 2 days now and only 4 stops I think you will get some more time at each place, no?

It was 5, so dropping 1 might give you an extra 20-30min per stop? It's still not a ton of time. Don't forget the breweries & blenderies are open to the public too. The HORAL busses are a small fraction of the traffic those days. Totally worth it, still trying to swing a visit this year.

    My route in '15

Read in a local paper that the 2017 megablend is about to go on sale

Approx. 21 000 bottles will be sold at 9 euro a piece

Nice. I like them. The only one I wasn't so fond of was the 2011 as I thought it drank more like a dry champagne/sparkling wine. Nothing bad in that but not what I expected.

I've only had the 2015/2013 bottles and I'm a fan, I do have the older bottles but haven't tried any yet..Can't get myself to open them

Both very nice. Me and the spouse did a straight vertical on all the Megablends to celebrate that we are going to TdG for the first time.

Looks like Oud Beersel will spoil us some more during TdG.

"Thanks to the 10 year anniversary of Birrificio del Ducato in Parma last weekend, Lindheim Ølkompani's and Oud Beersel tasted their soon-to-be-released collaboration beer named FiiftyFifty, part of the Lindheim Ølkompani's Friendship Series...

FiftyFifty is a blend of 50% Oude Lambiek from our cellars, and 50% coolship beer from Lindheim Ølkompani. Completely spontaneously fermented and aged on wooden barrels, this beer is a unique blend showing the craftmanship of and reflecting the friendship between both breweries.

FiftyFifty will be available in Belgium EXCLUSIVELY at the bar duringToer de Geuze - Oud Beersel."

That sounds wonderful! Looking forward to this year and guess I'll visit Beersel first, anxious to see what their new stuff is like

The route is also longer this year. For instance Route 1 leaves Halle station at 1030 and returns at 1930 (so an extra 2 hours over 2015)

Excellent point. The breweries can be totally jammed with people. Great atmosphere so, if I get there this year, I'll aim to go (with great moderation) by car, to avoid the press of time.

Very happy I came across this posting today - just happened to have booked a trip to be in Brussels during this weekend without actually having known about this. Seeing that there's still a few HORAL routes available and trying to decide which one to go for. I'd consider myself a neophyte in the world of gueuze, and this will be our first visit to Belgium.

Might just wind up joining y'all on bus 4

EDIT: Nevermind, there's only one seat left on that one for Saturday, and I don't think my wife would appreciate me leaving her out. I'll probably wind up going for bus 9, instead.

    Great information. Thanks for sharing.
Are you looking for place for dinner at de Herren van Liedekerke Saturday evening? Might get bus to drop there on way back from de Troch to station as will pass by it. Could look to add to existing reservation at 2030. Bar in Liedekerke and also by bus pickup /drop off supposedto be worth a visit.
    Cheers

We just extended our trip by a day so that we can attend the Saturday Toer! Doesn't look like there are any buses left that are hitting the place we want to go, so we are planning on using trains, taxis, Ubers, etc. Has anyone done this in the past?

We are thinking we will take the train to Beersel (3F and Oud Beersel) from Brussels. Then take a train to Tilquin, and finally a train back to Brussels.

If anyone has any input on this, or is open to sharing taxis, please let me know!

3F's main location will be in Lot at the Lambik-O-Droom. Thats the only feedback I have. Sorry to ruin your plan.

The lambic a droom is les then half a mile from the station, very easy reachable
Boon is almost next to the station in Lembeek
De Troch has a busstop right in front of the entrance
Tilquin will be a trainride, then taking a bus and walking the last 200 metres . You will need a different ticket for the bus in the Walloon region then for the Flemish region

Try to contact a local bus company, I doubt there will be any Ubers at all as there have been strikes to ban Uber form Brussels in the past..It is all doable but very tiresome, and stressfull
