Tickets lasted a while last year -- but they were more expensive and there were two sessions vs. one this year, so...

I think these will go quickly. It's a much better deal now.

Respectully disagree. 18th st. has lost a ton of momentum over the last year and rubbed a lot of people the wrong way over pricing. I don't think many really give a s**t anymore

Not saying you are wrong about the deal, but 18th Street just doesn't have the same buzz it did two years ago. I bet they last a few days.

They definitely did some damage to their reputation with last year's attempt.

I'll bet you a 12 ounce pour at our next share that it sells out within 24 hours.

    Your confidence gives me pause.

Their attitude/pricing wouldn't matter if they made good beer. They don't make good beer.

    That's like, your opinion, man.

They in fact, because I say so, make very good beer.

People are voting with their wallet... The previous years they rode DLD's coat tails. Going to be even harder for them to sell tickets this year.

I thought the first session sold out last year, the 2nd one didn't? This will be a same day sell out if there are only 400 tickets...

Funny how he hype train just moves on the next station. 2 years ago, people were falling over themselves to get anything 18th street and calling them the best in the Midwest. (Those people were idiots btw)

Nature of craft beer hype; the neckbeards have moved on to Mikerphone and next year it'll be something else. Now it seems to have swung full circle on 18th Street, with people in here trying to be trendy by saying that they don't even make good beer -- which is every bit as dumb as calling them the best brewery in the Midwest. 18th Street is a good brewery; they've had some misses like everyone else, but some of their stuff is really damn good, too. No more, no less.

I think the missteps with their BA program hurt their momentum ->infections, average or below barrel aged offerings, price points that were on par with FFF's BA stuff. They came out of the gate swinging for the non-BA stuff, though and that drove the early hype. 18th's proximity of being an hour away from the city when there are now many closer local, solid quality options doesn't help it.

This is so true. I drink a ton of 18th Street and FFF and not so much Half Acre, Pipeworks, etc for this exact reason -- I can run to FFF or 18th from the office over lunch to grab whatever I need, whereas hopping the border to grab IL stuff requires a dedicated trip either after work or on the weekends. Very good beer that is easy to get will always trump very good beer that is more of a PITA; so we all (those of us that don't chase the hype, anyway) just tend to drink what is convenient.

Technically you can drive from 18th St Brewery and be inside the city of Chicago in under 10 minutes.
