The bottles come off the bottling line wet. The last step of the bottling process is an external water rinse to wash off any beer that got on the bottle during bottling/capping (we cap on foam as part of the process of keeping as much air out as possible, so there's always a little beer on the outside of the bottle that the bottling machine does it's best to rinse off). As a rule, we let the bottles dry before waxing them, but in trying to wax thousands of bottles some wet ones get waxed from time to time. I have seen this before and it's always been external rust from trapping a few drops of water under the wax, not from a leaking cap. The beer inside, in my experience, is fine.

Someone else made a comment about an 1825 with a rusty cap tasting oxidized. Barrel aged beers oxidize in the barrel, it's a fact of barrel aging, so just be careful you're not letting the sight of rust make you look for problems that aren't necessarily there.

I had a bottle of 5th and it was a little oxidized.

I've drank through 2 bottles of Fifth with no issues. Only issue is I want more but I wanna let it sit a while haha. I'd say the best beer I've ever drank, it's unreal.

I agree when I had it a day or two after the release it was the best beer I've had in a long time but the last bottle I had was a bit oxidized still solid but scary.

There were 3 times I've opened a waxed bottle from Kane and saw a minimal amount of rust, the contents were always fine.

I bought one of these a couple months back, and it has been working out great. I was looking for something a bit more visually appealing than most mini-fridges, and the retro-style of it fits my decor very well - https://www.amazon.com/Danby-DAR033A6PDB-Contemporary-Refrigerator-Metallic/dp/B01KNYV0LK

It has adjustable glass shelves so you don't have to worry about cans/bottles falling over on flimsy wire shelves. The way I've got it set up, the top shelf holds 15 cans (16oz), the bottom shelf holds 10 cans (16oz), another 8-10 16oz cans can fit on the door, and there's space for 4-6 more 12oz cans on the top of the door as well. It could hold even more cans, but I removed the middle glass shelf, which allows me to fit 8-10 16/22/25oz bottles along the middle shelf.

If you're interested in that one, shop around, since there's definitely variation in prices on different websites.

I have a nice mini fridge I keep my stuff in but mixing bottles and cans makes it tough to fit as much as I could possibly. Thinking of making the one I have a bottle only mini with it regulated at 55-60 degrees and then getting a new one for just cans. Only prob is room. I'll be debating this for a while haha

This. Just so others know, it has happened more than once :-( the beer wasn't good either, assuming as a result

Not at all crazy, quite frankly one of the worst Kane beers I have had (and I love Kane).

Depends on what you consider fresh, when I had it it was only a month and a half old

I'd snap buy that now if it weren't for the ships in 8-10 weeks lol. Looks a great fridge and exactly what I'm looking for. I'll look around for that model in a store at a similar price where I won't have to wait so long. Really appreciate all the feedback

I don't recall much discussion about Fifth and production issues after it was released. Was this brought up in the forum at the time of drinking for any of you? Or just remembering the issue now after six months due to the ANTEAD release last week?

I don't recall mention here, but I've seen very limited mention on untappd of bad seals, oxidation, very metallic flavors, etc... They are few and far between however. And likely a few of them are people who shared the same bad bottle but made individual check ins.

I shared the bottle with st9647v3. I figured it was an isolated incident with the particular bottle so no need to make a big deal about it. Most people agreed it was great, we just got a bad one. Why it was bad who knows.

Oh weird, mine shipped Prime in a few days. Maybe keep an eye on it and see if it comes in stock soon.

I know we established that there are Wind Swell and Party Wave cans left but do we know how many? When PW first was canned it made it till that following sat at opening and sold out right then, 3rd reef was Friday I think. Trying to get down for some more Winf Swell since I got just 1 4-pack but can't get there till like 730 on Thurs
