Been following for a few years, as this will be my 3rd DLD. Not a rookie, not a vet. As such, I don't feel the need to speak up much, but when someone says the 3F/FFF thing is a big deal, I do feel the need to be even more petty and point out that is isn't. I can't stand to be out-petied.

I just don't understand why everyone here turns EVERY SINGLE THING into an acronym.

The Dark Lord doesn't give f*** about beer cred or what is acceptable.

I'm with you in general, but there is no waste of space in a DLD thread!

I'd say calling it a big deal is a tad much. And give yourself some credit, three DLDs is pro status in my book...especially if two of the years were 15 and 16.

Same here...we don't need to debate EST.

Ok, fine, there is nothing too petty in the DLD thread. On the quest to 150 pages, and with no real updates since ticket purchases, all shit shall fly. I concede. :slight_frown:

3F vs FFF debate is fun and 96% trolling.

Rant enabled this is just in general, not directed towards anyone in particular.

I bit my tongue yesterday on this, but I'm calling bullshit. This is 'merica, not 'elgium. 3 Floyds is commonly regarded as one of the world's most popular breweries (at least according to this site or rate beer or other biased US Rankings). The point is, 3 Floyds is more iconic in this country and should have the easier, shorter, more logical abbreviation. Feel free to use the 2 letter/number abbreviation for DFB on Belgium websites. I hereby declare from now on 3 Floyds is to be abbreviated 3F. It just makes sense. Their website is 3floyds.com They commonly use the number 3 before Floyds.

Drie Fonteinen? Shouldn't that be DF? Or better yet, since they call themselves Brouwer Drie Fonteinen how about BDF? No one calls it 3 Fonteien. It's fookin Drie!

Not sure how much your drinking, but if your first thought is to finger yourself....just continue drinking and I'm sure someone will two finger discount your Power Bottom when you are passed out.

I say we need to develop levels of DLD attendance status. Especially since only a select few here could match my bona fides in this regard. Hey, it's all about making me feel good about myself.

I'm not necessarily willing to cede that attending 3 DLDs is pro level; a first time sacrifice (errr attendee) is a noob, and 2-timer is an affiliate. A 3-timer is an associate, no, sorry, that sucks - I hate accounting firm lingo - so let's say candidate.

Go above 4 DLDs, and I'll grant pro status.

Above that? I'm sure there's 100%ers - and I take the knee before them..

For me? Attended in '06-'12, missed '13 because the fest sucked in '12, and didn't know that they'd expand the fest grounds in '13, and bounced back in '14-'16.

I'll accept DLD Duke, or perhaps, Earl.

    Earl of Dark Lord Day.

    I can live with that.

Kinda reminds me of people calling Buffalo Wild Wings BW3. Should be BW2 if anything.

I hate the abbreviations on here - it's a form of hazing. If you don't know the lingo, somehow you are inferior to those who do. Spare me that crap - just tell me, in plain language, what you in search of. If you meet up with some peeps at Hampton or whatever, do you speak in abbreviations? No, you do not.

Someone would finger my dwarven power bottom? I'll be on the lookout for that - fortunately, I've never been "that guy".

    Drie Fonteinen's website is
    Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen - Beersel
    3fonteinen.be/

And they actually have a 3 on their label sooooooo they have more claim to it than FFF

The original name is Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck thus BW3 but they removed the weck from the original name some years ago

Hmmm, I had not considered that there was already such nomenclature in use.

I'm going to revert to Duke of Dark Lord Day.
