Ill take the blame for that. make sure you sear the roast on the sides first. it will help lock it together, otherwise it might be more like pulled pork. cook for 6-8 hrs on low, you only want the pork to get to about 155 inside. add the vegetables towards the end. carrots and chopped potatoes first(about 1 -1.5 hours before finish), onions (about 30-45min before finish), and mushrooms (about 15-20 min before finish). feel free to season and add veggies to taste.

I have cooked pork like this before in stouts, lagers, and a real treat is using a flanders red/bruin.

Working late tonight, but my wife just texted me letting me know Ive received a "parcel" in the mail from eTix. As the sun normally burns my pasty white skin, I hardly ever buy anything from eTix. The odds of it being DLD related seems high.

Interesting idea, though I'd probably test it with an easier to get and cheaper beer.

Also, I'm disappointed in all of you for not making a soy sauce joke. Maybe try it with garlic, ginger, green onion, a thai bird chili or two and some sesame oil.

I have done it with easier and cheaper beer. Now I am going to make a recipe I can not keep replicating...

Also using it as a thai base sounds good but ill leave that bottle on my porch for a month first and get it nice and ripe

also an odd question, can i bring an empty growler in? it would be expensive but i could technically fill it with DL inside at 5$ a draft...

I don't believe they allow them in. I always see the empty growlers on the ground with the empty bottles in the entrance share line.

I would assume it's frowned upon, but I have no idea how strict they are. I'm sure people have tried to fill one with BVDL.

Oh man....Now there is a deep dark part of me that wants to bring an empty growler and a funnel, and try to stealth mode try to pour cups of DL into it.... :stuck_out_tongue:

Funny you should mention that, went to a fine dining restaurant here in Cleveland and they did just that with pork belly.

Exactly, I know last year I managed to get a full 32oz boston round into the festival... going to try the same thing this year. The funnel is definitely taking it one step further.

Though I think the smaller growlers may be easier to disguise amongst the bottles, sandwiches, bottles of water, etc
