So the collab is brewed with 18th's hops and yeast and Transient's price model?

In Portland Maine? Austin- Bissel- Maine brewing all too both and I would take over all of ours...

And I'm not a hater- I love Miker, Hailstorm, Shaun, hopefully Hubbards cave can come around.. and maybe Lunar will be good with the new guy they got...

And again it's just my opinion- I just am not into the malt bombs we produce

I actually wonder this on pricing as well. I pay cash for Trill.. I love them. It's redic expensive.. so are plenty of others.. but why are big dogs like Alchemist or a local one putting out great stuff like Hailstorm Stratus so cheap?

Dont forget about Foundation. Portland, ME is my personal #1 beer city. Start talking about other than NE IPAs and Allagash is there too. For how relatively small of a city it is, they have top notch breweries.

18th st has always been expensive. this is nothing new. remember grapefruit dead? surprised it's not a "cash only" beer as well.

I refuse to get bent out of shape about this sort of pricing when I have no idea the quantities of hops and cost to make the beers.

I always assumed that Half Acre's one-offs were relatively expensive ($16 or 17 a 4-pack, as compared to their seasonal/yearly beers which are usually below $15) due to the fact that costs are higher with smaller runs.

Quite simply, because they care about craft and the community.

Seriously! I was there 7-8 years ago and my choices then would be drastically different from the places I would visit today!

According to a Transient Facebook post, each brewery used their own yeast for the collab. Transient is releasing theirs tomorrow in their taproom as well.

You have absolutely no idea how much it costs to make these IPAs.

Amen. I was up there last summer and it's fantastic.

I'd put Richmond, VA ahead of us too. It's a little over 3x the size of Portland but still not a very large city and The Veil, The Answer, and Triple Crossing are all making incredible IPAs.

I opened a Juice Pants 4 last night and it already fell of drastically from when I had it at the release at Beer Cellar. It lost a lot of the haze it had, and there was more of a hop bite on it that overwhelmed the juicy flavors.
