it is the same beer. The only difference is that the fresh hops have been frozen from the time regular born yesterday came out.

Damn with all the homebrew I've been making/drinking, I've been slacking on my bottle shop purchases. If B(a)Y is still out in my neck of the woods I def need to get some more of that, the first release was sublime!

I find Lagunitas' online beer finder to be pretty damn accurate for the Houston market. Not showing up yet, but just received TABC label approval on Friday.

That could mean any day now...or never.

Awesome. Thanks for the tip @saintcdc

I havent used Lagunitas online "beer finder" (as most of the time this tool is far from accurate on most breweries websites).

But Ill definitely check it out and I appreciate you sharing this!

Are frozen "fresh" hops still "fresh" hops??

When you buy frozen peas at the supermarket do you refer to them as fresh peas?

    Cheers!

Since the brewing industry (well, most of it) uses the term "fresh hops" to mean undried/green/raw hops, while they might not be "fresh-picked" they're still not dried or otherwise processed.

If you freeze a grape, does it become a raisin?

You and I might not, but legally, a producer can:

"The terms “fresh frozen” and “frozen fresh,.."

But those terms have the word "frozen" associated with it which means the item is not fresh as far as I am concerned.

If the folks at Lagunitas used that qualifier: Brewed with fresh frozen hops, that would acceptable to me since it provides the needed information of "frozen".

    Cheers!

But, unlike Born Yesterday's label, the label for Born Again Yesterday doesn't use the term "fresh hops" prominently.

It does say, in fine print "...year-round fresh hop flavor".

Has BAY hit NJ yet? Or any info on whether we will see it?

Lagunitas' distro in Colorado is soooo spotty... still havent' seen Born again yesterday around town. It seems like we get small drops of their One hitter series (High Westified sold out in a few days and I don't think we got a second drop like most states.) Its so difficult to figure out which stores are getting what too. I have called several stores looking for lagunitas beers and they are always clueless what they are getting and when. Anyone else have the same issues? The beer finder on the website Is always outdated and inaccurate as well.

Yeah the Lagunitas distro in Colorado is impossible to figure out! I've almost given up trying to seek their beer out but its always a pleasant surprise when the One hitters show up.

I rather liked their Citrisinesis seasonal brew with blood oranges...Hop Stoopid is solid but Born Yesterday and the Citrasinesis (sp?) are clearly preferred by my palate...and the Citrus one held its flavor, bouquet, balance much better than Born Yesterday....but, like the rest of you, I'd drink that one regardless...it's my favorite but I haven't tried Pliny the Elder yet!

I'm gonna be in trouble, but I think Pliny is way over-rated
