I honestly had no idea I needed a specific reason why I had a bad opinion about a beer.

I also said I should have used a different word other than awful. I also explained why I didn't care for the Henry or Chameleon but I couldn't put my finger in what turned me off about DDH Noob. I'll try and get better..

I'd assume so. Releases have been lasting about a week and a half lately.

Not if you bring back the quadrupled hopped superfan they wouldn't.

Revisited Dry Dock Ipa again yesterday to the toon of two 6ers. Anyone else notice variations? Literally half the beers out of each six pack had pretty much no hop presence while the other half were pretty good but not nearly as good as I remembered. Also all the beer this time had floaties which were not in the first 6er I bought.

Had a TON of sediment in my sixer. Literally thought I'd dropped food in my glass until it was the case with the second can. Pretty unappealing.

But if it was heady people would say it's part of the charm...

I really enjoyed Dry Hopped n00b. If I had any complaint, its that it is a citra bomb from the dry hop. Its tasty for sure but didn't taste like n00b plus citra, but rather CITRA plus a little n00b.

    Well, that sold me!

Did anyone have the case of disappearing flavor like with regular noob? (hoping the yeast is the culprit)

We are getting some clumping (yeast, polyphenols, and proteins) in the cans that we didn't get in our test batches that were keg only. The kegs are still consistent. We only fine this beer. It doesn't go through a filter or centrifuge. From our research, the extra oxygen pick-up that the cans get over the kegs in combination with a flocculant yeast strain and fining may be causing the clumping. We are working on a few thing with our process to reduce or eliminate this.

As far as flavor and aroma, I've been tasting each batch (there have only been 5) each week that they have been out. I haven't noticed a loss of flavor or aroma. What I've noticed is that the grassy and citrus backs off a touch and that soft/tropical and stone fruit come to the forefront. I personally like this. I've never been a fan of super, super fresh IPAs. I think they hit their peak at about week 5 or 6 from the start of fermentation.

I'll keep my nose and taste buds in tune with this while I'm trying it, but I'll notice variations with any beer just based on environmental factors. How much I've drank or not drank recently. What I had prior to having a beer whether that is food or beer. I don't really even like too much background noise when I'm trying to really dig into a beer. Other aromas in the atmosphere. In other words, an active brewery is about the worst place for me to sample a beer. There's also things like allergies to consider.

Can you two collaborate and can it?

Maybe call it "Reunited" (double ipa, world excited).

    That would be heaven. Thanks.

DDH Noob had a little of the same flavor that DDH Hop Wizard had. I didn't mind them but others have described them as off putting. I just don't know how to describe the flavor, but I know it when I taste it. I had the DDH Superfan this year, QDH Superfran last year and some of the other odd 13 DDH beers that were spectacular and did not have this flavor. Anyway, I enjoyed DDH Noob. The nose was great, but I think I prefer regular Noob to this one. I'd rather odd 13 keep experimenting and pumping out new releases knowing that 20% of the time, it's not going to be amazing.

Well I'm really glad someone else had the same experience and just couldn't explain what it was that was off putting, but it was..

Also on the Dry Dock IPA I had only had a 6 pack and tons of sediment and which honestly doesn't botther me at all. Got another 6er today and same sediment but also same flavor I haven't noticed any change in the flavor of either 6 pack..

Alan are the numbers on the bottom of the cans a Julian date? Mine started 080 which would be April 21st is that correct?

Is there any advantage to using a Julian dating system?

I'm thinking if I knew how to use it, I'd feel smart, but otherwise I can't think of anything else that would make it seem practical

Using Julian predates (pun intended) my time here, but my guess would be because of limited space on the can and characters per line that the printer can print.
