Founders - New Barrel-Aged Series Release: DKML

I'd actually be willing to pay more if it was an actual 40 oz screw top. If they got ice Cube to do a commercial. I'd pay even more.

 

If this is displayed in a brown paper bag I will buy one.

So is this a variation of "Summer Sizzler?" Or just renamed? Either way, I'm in!

As much as I enjoy "bottom-shelf corn-adjunct swill," I have a feeling this is going to be a bit more upscale and refined. If it's anything close to Flossmoor BA Magnolia Star or Drakes BA 510, we may just have winner on our hands!

 

One would think that Dark Horse would do this before Founders!

 

Pretty sure it's Summer Sizzler, or a slightly tweaked version. That beer was just okay. It was drinkable and a nice seasonal beer, but certainly nothing I'd expect them to bottle for this series.

 

This would be uber legit if Founder's co-brewed with Steel Brewery to make this.

Founder's BBA 211, how awesome would that be?

 

I love craft beer as much as the next BA but I also like some steely.if this happened I'd lose my shit

So weirdly enough, I was informed that this beer will not be made available in the state of Oregon because it's such a high abv malt beverage.

Bummer...

 

This seems a bit odd, some weird loophole beverage happens to fit exactly what some law states.

Malt beverages may not be labeled or otherwise designated as beer for purposes of retail sale in this state unless the malt beverage contains six percent or less alcohol by volume. [1995 c.301 §12; 1999 c.351 §15a]

 

Anyone grab any of this yesterday? Interested to hear reviews.

Thought i read July 1st, now their web site says availability "August". Was going off memory so I guess I jumped the gun.

 

I believe it is available to go from the tap room. It is definitely on draft presently.

 

A whopping 3.87 on Untappd in less than 100 reviews.

Will easily drop 0.5-1.0 points like everything else once widely available.

Hope you learn something from this Founders.

 

Interesting no reviews here yet, but 142 on untappd. I realize that untappd gets more drive-by reviews, but still.

 

I had some of this on Friday night. I had no plans to get any of it, but a buddy brought it. I really didn't think it was bad at all, like I figured it would be. I gave it a 3.75, which is below the 3.82 average on Untappd, but I still considered it to be pretty solid (I know sometimes people think anything below a 4 is bad, but that's not how I view it). I wouldn't buy it, but I wouldn't turn it down to try again. I think I liked it more than I liked Lizard of Koz (which I also didn't think was terrible).
