Heading to Chicago this weekend for the David Lynch retrospective at the Music Box, looking forward to visiting Half Acre!

Question for regulars: do they only fill their own branded growlers, or can I bring some from my stash? The wording on their website is vague on this point. Thanks.

They will fill almost all grolwers. Only ones I've been turned down on (and only half the time) is the flip top growlers/howlers.

Not sure how the fest is organized, but if you find yourself with an hour to kill between screenings, check out Corridor Brewing, about a five minute walk down Southport from the theater. I've had some solid beers there and the food is great.

I personally think Half Acre is an all around better experience, but Corridor is worth a stop.

They fill any growler. Depeding on who is working they may deny flip tops but usually they fill them. Coming from out of town I would just bring standard screw tops.

This usually drops the week of CCB week. Is this an indication that they will be brewing something else special for that week???

Last year I got there at 8PM and they still had plenty of bottles (at the time available), but the grolwer/howler fills had run out just shortly before. If I recall correctly, the bottles lasted until early Saturday.

    I'm guessing production increased significantly

I would assume so too. A case limit is 384 ounces of beer. Last year's limit was either 4 or 6 22oz bombers which is significantly less beer.

I hope GDDC was all made at the ravenswood location. Would hate to crack one and find out it got funkafied because of some wild yeast floating through the air because they decided to play with sours.

Didn't PW just put out a sour a little bit ago and then people are finding some tartness in some of there other beers that they thought was not there before?

 Spotted Puffer was the one beer, and it is brewed with passionfruit. Having had the most recent spotted puffer, I did think it was too much. But that was clearly too much passionfruit, not because some wild yeast had gotten into Pipeworks' IPA tanks.

The tartness people are talking about in Pipeworks beers are specifically the fish series with fruit added, which I think makes sense. I don't find any tartness in any recent releases of their regular line up and the Emerald Grouper which just came out with zero fruit add ins also had zero tartness.

Yes, it was the fruit. Let's please not start any PW infection rumors (again).
