Maybe I was thinking of Alien Church, not Pineal. It's hard to keep up, sometimes.

I have absolutely experienced that w/ Hop Hands. The darker color and everything.

If you changed the word "can't" to "shouldn't" I would agree.
I personally do not disagree with you here but...

As long as Tired Hands sells out their can releases where is the financial incentive to make changes? Isn't the message they are receiving from the folks purchasing these beers (at a 'pretty penny' no less) that no matter what you put into a can we will exuberantly buy?

    Cheers!

When the majority of the cans people buy are being traded away I'm sure the purchaser doesn't care what the beer inside the can tastes like (good or bad).

Even if they keep one 4pk from a TH case and it's slightly off they still end up with a bunch of more than likely better tasting beers from their trades.

Is anyone on site? Trying to gauge my chances if I get there around 6:00.

I have no idea how many Tired Hands cans are traded vs. consumed by local customers but either way Tired Hands is selling out of their canned beers in hours (or maybe by the next day on occasion). No matter who is drinking the beers Tired Hands is making BIG BUCKS very rapidly. A business success, no?

    Cheers!

I'm here. At scaffolding and it's almost 5 and the line has not compressed or moved yet. Decent amount of people behind me too.

Why do you think so many traders want to trade for Tired Hands beers when there is so much inconsistency? Just so they can tick all of the different "new" beers?

Yup, you're right on all accounts. I do think it will eventually catch up. I love the brewery and I'm hoping they figure it all out.

It's also worth noting that OH has never raised prices on any repeat beers over the years, despite selling out just as fast as TH. Just seems like a very "big business" move to pull.

Update. 6:20 and I'm having dinner and watching the line. Still poeple in line, can't see how much left.

Ps. Had a tap, pretty good.

So many shake releases recently.. really hoping the Neopolitan or another shake comes out before I leave the city in a couple weeks, I just hope I don't miss it by a week

I agree. I just wonder how long "eventually" will be since at the moment there seems to be no lessening of the extreme exuberance exhibited by contemporary Tired Hands fans.
Me too, when the beer is 'on'.
Well, this is where I am scratching my head. For the first half of 2016 I was sort of thinking that the situation was a 'learning curve' but that was a bit naive of me since the Fermentaria was already a year old by this time last year. It really should only take a few batches of a given beer brand (HopHands for example) on a new brewing system to 'dial in' that beer. The aspect I found weird was that some of the 'early' batches of HopHands (e.g., January/February 2016) were good but then later batches would be off (e.g., perceptible diacetyl, just didn't taste right,...). It was like a roller coaster of beer quality. This situation has me stumped.

    Cheers!

“New beer styles” to be specific; who wants to miss out on the new fad:

The creamy ‘milkshake’ ale…Every year a few new beer styles get added to the Brewers Association’s guidebook. These are usually just minor offshoots of long-held, already-existing styles. The black IPA was added in 2010; wild beer in 2014. The modernized gose made the list just last year. And by next year, we could very well see a new category: the milkshake ale.”

…I suppose one may want to thank Jason for Jean’s inspiration

Probably. Have you seen the ISO:FT requests on the TH Instagram posts when new cans are announced.

I don't know about that, it took Shaun Hill a couple of years at least to dial in his hoppy beers on his new system. Way more than a couple of batches. Scaling up isn't as easy as you'd think, I guess. Perhaps it's the yeast.

But I have had high quality Tired Hands beers in early 2016 and less than high quality Tired Hands beers afterwards. If they were able to produce high quality beers early why couldn't they afterwards?

    Cheers!

Anyone else thinks this rose petal milkshake is drinking fantastic? I really enjoyed it a lot.

I got the last draft last night before the keg kicked and thought it was pretty awesome. I'll probably open a can tonight while watching the NFL draft. Different, but really good. I got the floral kick on the back end too, it was nice.
