As a group A'er who wants Handjee, I'm kinda pissed.

 

im just going to enjoy the ride, get in line around 10.30 for group B, and see what I get. You guys want to waste the entire day standing in the group line, have it.

It's really nice not to care which bottle of alcohol I get. Being consumed by the type of variant you get sounds awful

 

And to think I was so happy to get A for the first time ever sigh

 

It also helps this year that there isn't a variant that puts me off. I'd be happy with any of them.

Having said that, I've gotten the vanilla/handjee the last 4 years, so maybe I'm just over it?

Either way, I'm with you. Just excited to enjoy the day.

 

Finally caught up. Thoughts...

1) Solid variant list. I would be pretty happy with 4 and I'm okay with Muerte. Not thrilled with Scotch or Cinnamon/pepper.

I'm mildly concerned about FVM being Moscat instead of Armangnac. Worried it will be too sweet.

2) Not thrilled with the process change. A lot of people are going to spend most of the day in line. It really sucks for friends with people in different groups. You either get separated all day or risk getting screwed on the variant. Even worse, you might get 2 vintage.

It sounds like separate lines might stop the shenanigans to try to get better variants, but that assumes the staff has their shit together. We all know how that can go.

3) That said, it's not going to change my plans too much. I was already planning on getting there early and getting right in the group B line. I'm going with a fringe acquaintance, so being separated doesn't bother me. I am worried that I'll spend 3 hours in the pickup line, which would suck.

4) It sounds like line shares will be more of a thing this year. We may need a spreadsheet for which BA's are in what group.

 

Lucky!!....not lucky. I fear the day if I will need knee surgery. Im pretty sure its inevitable because ive been pretty hard on mine.

Definitely dickish, but, also dickish of FFF to wait so long to release information, but what more could we expect.

 

Your friends can do what were doing. Hang out with your buddy in the pre-line. I'm going to bring cards and other things to entertain us.

If you need cards to entertain yourself at DLD, you are doing it wrong.

 

You all took the words out of my mouth. The variant is only a small piece of why I attend in the first place. I'm Group C and while I'm happy to have a shot at an "elite" variant (I'm never had Vanilla or FVM ), I'm not going to let it control my day. I'll get in line 30-40 minutes before and see what happens.

I'm still going to enjoy the day, hang with my friends, and try some food/guest taps. Hopefully in 75 degree sunshine!

 

To all the people planning on waiting for 6+ hours in the group line...


Why do you value the variant choice so much? I'm genuinely curious. To me, choice of beer isn't worth spending my whole day in line, missing guest taps/better shares etc.

You missed on hanjee already we are all already in line.

 

So what's the lowest and highest Handjee bottle counts? Maybe safely 125-150 per group?

 

Well it certainly looks like we'll make 150 pages no problem!

And as for varients being equally distributed among groups....I think I may have wet myself a little!

Group E FTW! We get to enjoy all the festivities and still have a shot at sought after varients. F I'd still be happy with a "shitty" varient or 2 vintage DLs....

Now let us shed a tear for all those poor souls in A that will be lined up at 2a.m. only to miss the HJ by a couple people!

 

For next year will everyone try for group E tickets? If you choose Best Available will it go E-D-C-B-A??
