Or should I say 13 career starts. Either way, total idiot move.

Mother's Day is not a holiday weekend IMO. I love my mother and the mother of my children, but that holiday doesn't get "weekend" status. That's not minimizing mothers, either...I feel the same way about Father's Day.

I get that it may be tougher for people who come from out of town, but oh well.

To think, I was 13 college football career starts at QB from being the number 2 overall pick in the draft....

I know they e-mail address that they toss up on DLD is probably either fake or just pushes all messages to trash, but has anyone tried voicing their opinion? I'm not letting a bottle dictate my time at the event so it's irrelevant to me, but I still wrote them to see if they could either clarify or consider moving to a random system which would allow people to spend less time in lines and more time enjoying (and spending money) at the festival.

Didn't Cam Newton start something like 16 games? Yeah I know about his junior college career, but that doesn't really count.

Shouldn't be hard to trade for I wouldn't think. I know I for one rank that as my last choice among the variants. Since I probably won't line up early, there is a good chance I will have one to trade you. Dark Lord aged in Islay Scotch barrels just sounds disgusting to me.

Mother's Day is a made up holiday like Valentine's Day perpetrated by the greeting card industry.

That sounds like a lot of work on their part.

Cam Newton also won a Heisman, National Championship, and was a physical specimen. This was a horrible move by the Bears IMO.

Nah, not as long as they are all separated. Fairly simple really, and they have that massive distillery they can use to keep the groups separate.

I agree that they gave up way too much to move up one spot. I'll take the wait and see approach with Trubisky.

It's the most important position in sports. If they truly feel this guy is a franchise QB than they did what they had to do to lock him up. I can respect the move.

The morning after the nuclear bomb of all FFF news dropped...
I suppose this was well deserved. I spent part of yesterday ranting about the need for more information, and boy did I get it. What a mind job. I sure as sh*t didn't expect the news that the variants would suddenly be spread across the groups evenly. Not that I've ever disapproved of the idea, it just never seemed like FFF would do it. And to announce it a couple weeks before DLD...boom!
I for one, as a group A ticket holder, will NOT be lining up before the time I originally planned. There's some cool variants to choose from this year. I'd be happy with a BBA DL to keep my vertical going. Maybe my wife will want to try one of the new variants and we'll grab one of those. Either way, I'm not sacrificing Dark Lord Day for a variant. I am very happy for my friends (and those of you) in groups D and E.
All that being said, I still can't see how this is going to work logistically. As @jwenig mentioned earlier, good luck telling people not to line up early and have them actually listen. I can foresee either a giant clusterfu*k of people standing around the entrance to the allotment pick-up line, a giant line wrapping around the fest, and/or multiple lines forming near the pick-up entrance. None of those options seem very good.
Lastly, I do see all of this benefitting the lines that were long last year for food and other stuff. I have a feeling that these lines will be much better with a large portion of people jockeying for a spot in the allotment pick-up line(s). Also, as we talked about before, the thieves out there...now they'll have no idea who has the good sh*t!

As someone who was already planning on getting there early and going right to the Group B line, this doesn't really change anything for me. I feel like those people, early group A and late group D have the least change with the format.

It's a big plus for E because you went from possibly no variant to a chance at any of them. Even if you avoid lining up insanely early, you have a better shot than before.

C/D, it either is great or sucks depending on your tolerance for lines. I personally think I could drink away the annoyance for at least 2 hours.

I would be livid if I'm group A and didn't plan on getting there before 7, or got stuck in the entry line. At least you can get back to the fest early though.

If it works out, and he's a franchise QB, no one will care about 2 mid round picks in 3 years.

It's just the fact that the process they took to get there doesn't have me excited for the front office and future moves.

For someone who is a local and has been to the fest almost every year for over a decade, surely you must realize your words don't really have a significant bearing on the matter. You've likely tasted almost every variant they have ever made multiple times over, of course you would simply be going to have a good time, I would too. The likelihood for most of the rest of us to have tasted 1% of what you have over the years is slim to none. I'd rather have a single bottle of FVM vs. 25 pours of Bruery stouts.

This is what @YoungLad doesn't seem to understand. This is the reason people would line up in their queues long before their times--if the bags aren't randomly filled and randomly distributed, that means everyone gets a choice as to which variant to pick within their line, they will all line up early to ensure they get the best pick of what's available in their line. Yes everything will be distributed between the groups, but that still means the best variants will be picked clean the earliest in each group.

There is that consoling fact you bring up @Billy_Bars and that is there will be sharing in those lines. Last year was kind of disappointing in the bottle line because it went so swiftly there was no sharing there. And now I'm complaining about fast moving lines, lol!

Basically. I'm still sitting it out until I see more clarification. The share is great, but part of the price of admission is an extremely rare variant and if I have to stand in line all day to guarantee a decent selection, I'd rather not. I've endured too many beer lines in my day.

    BEER LANYARD Help!

Ok last year i did the lanyard with salt and pepper shakers like here [IMG]

And they worked pretty well but they kind of lay sideways and will spill beer out if too full and they don't have the biggest hole to pour into which made it awkward sometimes.

So i was wondering if anyone has used these two products?

    1. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00L...,+Set+of+2&dpPl=1&dpID=51KsHlBpClL&ref=plSrch

    2.https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B016...ace+holder&dpPl=1&dpID=517egUTFjPL&ref=plSrch

Do plastic or rubber glasses like these fit in them?
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01D...ne+glasses&dpPl=1&dpID=41fTjMnDaZL&ref=plSrch

I also use these glasses for beer tasting and wouldnt care if these broke. But does anyone know if these fit in either one?
    https://www.worldmarket.com/product/small-brandy-glass-set-of-4.do

I'm an Amazon prime member...so I'd like to buy from there.

This will be my 7th DLD for me but first with brining in my wife.. Id like to make it as good experience as possible for her and i think the right drink holder will help..

    Thanks guys

I agree. It's make or break for Pace. He'll either be an NFL team president or be out of a job in a few years. Takes balls of steel to make a move like this.

Since FVM and Ronaldo is in muscat barrels, do you guys think there any chance they can be as good as last year?

Dwarven Power Bottom was in Muscat last year and I thought it sucked.
