Do the pub tickets typically last this long?

Group A tickets guaranteeing an actual first come first served? No.

    The new format? Maybe.

For some reason I remember them lasting pretty long last year, like 2 or 3pm. I think its cost more than anything. $30 for a ticket, sure, tons of people have that laying around. Not everyone's willing to put down $180-200 bucks for a ticket, variant or not.

But yeah, format could be the reason for this year. Lots of people are sour over the changes.

You are speculating that that's the reason, but I personally doubt it. So, I'm counter-speculating your speculation.

Last year's in person sales lasted well past noon, if memory serves. Granted, that was on a Monday, but even on Saturday, it's hard to drop everything and run to the brewpub. Hell, the guy in front of me drove an hour from Schaumburg, and was holding one toddler, with another climbing on the stones in front of the pub. (Yes, against his father's advice, he fell and scrapped his shin, but he was ok!)

Green for porta-potties looks like a solid assumption, as does orange for food trucks and blue for taps/food. Perhaps the blue boxes with darker blue behind them are either coolers for kegs (thus tap stations) or cooking areas for food?

"Staging area for guests" in the bottom right sounds suspiciously like a place specifically for lines - maybe this is going to be how they organize the different pickup lines? A few different sets of corrals for all the later groups? If our color guesses are correct, it actually wouldn't be that bad to be waiting there for a while since FFF would be providing food, beer and toilets all in one separate area. That's the same space where the main stage was last year, so there would be plenty of space for that.

It wasn't a Saturday and not announced 9 hours prior

That all sounds very reasonable. Corral all the people who want to wait in line all day down there. Let everyone else go up to the bottle share tent and the big stage field and enjoy the fest.

And it was also 1pp. However, that was when Group A was pretty much a guaranteed Handjee so...

Hahaha like a true die hard dAd that's a dark lord fan lol, I l would have done the same.

Also to the people above about tickets lasting this long. Last year it was released on a Monday. It lasted about 8-10 hours. Was 1 ticket per person and $200
I hope they do something for this format. Group A needs to get in first if you ask me, but we'll see.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't but hurt about this new variant thing. Reason being , I finally get group A tx ( 4 to be exact, me and the wife got 2 each for us and friends ) I was so hoping for a handjee but if I don't get it whatever. I'm there for the bottle shares. I think all the variants should be split anyway. It's not fair to someone paying the same price for a crappier variant. It's like buyin a concert ticket. You get the better seat but also at a higher price, if you purchase early of course. I'm a fan of groups A and b costing more money then c and d and e ( cause of the better variant ).

I don't know , just my 2 cents. I'm still gonna get there around 6 and enjoy my bottles with strangers and bullshit about dragon abortion

Anyone else think that Will Call arrow means will call guests will be filtered directly into the staging area after getting their tickets and not have to enter through the main gate?

Hah maybe, however in years past. Will Call guests who got there early and had good line position would lose it when the will call tent opened and they had to leave line and get their ticket. Then get back in line... which by that time has moved ahead into the line barriers and they get stuck farther back in line.

The thing on this map that doesn't make sense to me is the staging area being at the bottom right if the bottle pick up is at the same place it has been the last two years. The line of people would have to wind all the way from the south to just below the large area at the top. It would make a hell of a lot more sense to have pick up groups lineup in the North area. I suppose we will find out soon enough. Either way it will be fun.

Yeah, maybe they will have a worker lead the line up to the bottle sales area at the allowed time slot. Assuming the bottles sales line is empty, they should all filter in quickly.

That's kinda my point though. It would be like leading 2000 drunk kindergartners through a festival ground. It's a terrible idea.

That sounds awful. Ain't nobody gonna stay in line, they'll all run to the front. This is going to be Lord of the Flies if that's the case.
