Don't underestimate the amount of cattle pen fencing that can create and orderly path.

Except you can't fence your way to the entry without cutting off the rest of the festival. They can't do the fencing unless it is in the north section.

There could be a fence in the staging area. Forcing them to filter out in order. And then lead them across to another fence. People in line will call out line cutters.

    We'll see of course.

I totally see that. I just don't see walking people from the south to the north part of the festival. If you do the bottle pickup starting at the south of the brewery though, you just have to have people "cross the street". I could see that work.

I am really interested to see what FFF say this coming week. Being Group C I think it is great that I could have a shot at Vanilla, but I will not waste the fest in line for it. Really I will take any variant, Scotch and Ronaldo begrudgingly. He'll I would rather have vintages than wait in line all day.

For what it is worth, I heard some people (who did a full 2016 variant tasting) say Ronaldo was the best variant of 2016.

I have E and am hoping to get Dia Oscuro. It sounds like I should't have any issue from the opinions on here.

Completely disagree. Muerte is one of my favorite variants.

Honestly I won't be mad if I get it. Hell I may even love it. I'm just not the biggest fan of fruited stouts. But if I get Ronaldo, you bet your ass I will drink it up!

Did a full Vanilla Dark Lord Vert + Ronaldo, Pappy DL, Muerte, & Brandy. Ronaldo was a huge surprise and right up their with Handjee and FVM. The Muscat Barrels this year make me think it might be overly sweet. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

One gate would make it near impossible for any re- entry, wonder how they'll handle that.

They can do a separate entry at the south gate for re-entry, it's big enough. I remember in 2015 they had a separate line for people that didn't have back packs.

Yes. Guests who have previously produced a valid ticket for entry and passed through the security will be allowed re-entry to the DLD Festival. For re-entry to be granted, each person must show the following:

Your 2017 Dark Lord Day festival ticket, 2017 DLD wristband, and a 2017 DLD hand stamp.

Re-entry will be allowed through the Exit Gate at the South entrance. A person reentering will not be required to line up in the main entry lines at the South Gate.

Security check on guests re-entering with bags will be required.

You can cut to the front of line for re-entry. Just show your hand stamp.

I've done it at the north gate before, just cut and show your hand stamp, the workers were cool about it.

If they are trying to make everything equal with variants why even have groups? Just walk in, they hand you a bag, you walk out! Yes, I am group A that has never been lucky enough to get tickets and really wanted to try the Vanilla. Shit happens

Before the days of groups it was a huge 5 hour line. We don't want to go back to that.

I know I'm late, and I haven't had all these, but here are my variant preferences:

    Handjee
    FVM
    BBA
    Ronaldo
    Muerte
    ChemTrailMix
    Dis Oscuro

I'd say there's a significant drop after Muerte, but all of these variants seem intriguing at worst.

Kind of appropriate pub tickets are being sold on the old DLD in it's glorious weather.

    From a Facebook group:

    1. The map posted earlier is accurate

    2. Because of the hospital there is NO Lining up on the North Side. The line will be on the South side starting where it says "Will Call" on the map.

    3. No camping/tents and this will be heavily policed because of the hospital. (Unless there is an agreement with a neighboring business)

    4. At 6am you will pass through will call grab your tickets, if you don't have them, and move into the staging area. (Large gravel parking a lot across the street)

    5. At 9am the gate at the end of the staging area will open we will go into the main walk way where we can pick up all bottles. Once you are in this area you can NOT go back out. (ie. Didn't get the variant you wanted so going to try a different line won't work)

    6. If you have an A group but get there late you CAN get into a different group line. Sounds like Lines for all groups will start early but this is not fully vetted yet.

*** I can't answer any questions, this is just copied from someone who said they got this info from a FFF employee while picking up tickets today. The same person also commented that the employee thought the bands would actually be playing near the large blue block to the east.

This clears up what the staging area is for (pre-check tickets and bags before the main fest opens), but still doesn't answer the question of whether there will be separate lines for allotment groups. Maybe that's why there's so much space up to the north if it's not actually for the stage?
