Hey guys, didn't see one of these yet. I'm heading back into to town next week and will likely stop by Moonraker off the 80. Any ideas how often they have cans in stock?

Visited for the first time yesterday and the coming soon board had can releases on 5/5 and 5/12. I think they usually run out day of? Not sure if they ever do stealth ones.

I was really blown away by the amount of space they have. Pulled up out front and thought it was like a converted dentist office but it tunnels further and further back into some expansive lagunitas type campus/wonderland. Food trucks, tons of seating, cornhole, dog and kid friendly, killer spot. I used to live about 2 minutes away but that was before even knee deep was there. Wish moonraker was around in those days.

Do they have any plans for expansion? I'd love to get cans without having to drive all the way up there.

I've seen them drop off cans in San Jose, specifically Good Karma. But that may have been a one time thing.

Also, do they have crowlers or just growlers? what about prowlers? :sunglasses:

They dropped off cans of Slingjaw at Beer Rev one time, but that was a while back. I haven't seen anything other than some kegs here and there since.

Moonraker discussions were in the Sacramento/Rocklin/Auburn thread, but this is as good of a time as any to make it its own.

As far as fills, they only do Growlers. They don't have a crowler machine.

As far as distribution, I found a store that had a couple of their cans for sale and I asked them about it. They said that Moonraker does not distribute, and for them to offer the cans for sale, they went to Auburn for a pickup like everyone else.

Even though select Bay Area bars have their beers on tap, even that seems very spotty as if Moonraker doesn't want to give up their stuff. I'm glad Beer Rev had a bunch of their stuff on for their 7th anniversary, and Liquid Gold got a keg of Jungle Crush.

Seems like the same approach Sante and Cellarmaker have: if you want our beer, come pick it up, and it must go on tap immediately. That's why places like South Winchester bbq (plus their other locations) and Good Karma get this type of stuff.

As mentioned above, I have about 50+ posts about Moonraker in the Sacramento/Auburn Thread. Lots of good info there: Also pics and info 2 weeks ago, the 1 year anniversary party and can release. https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...burn-brewery-and-release-thread.447921/page-8

Moonraker recently got their own Wild Goose Canning line so they are now doing cans more frequently. About every 2 to 3 weeks or so lately. BUT, they have not posted their May release schedule yet. Should be anyway day now.

They do have several great beers on tap right now. You can also get a growler filled.

Biggest hits from the 1 year Anniversery can release were Electric Lettuce and Double Citra Crush. Yojo and Holy Hermit were great as expected as well.

That super long line on Friday 4/21 was just for the 1 year anniversary cans. By Sunday 4/23 there was little to no line for the same cans.

With the new canning line, the release will be more frequent. This will also keep some of the hype down.

The release a few days ago had little lines. They had cans the next day as well.

Hit Moonraker right after 12pm to try and beat the crowds on Sunday. Packed when we got there, word is out. But the additional picnic table seating outside helped.

The Alvarado Street Collab "Electric Lettuce" DIPA was great. Really good. Hopefully they will keep making that one.

I was also easily able to bring home cans of Zulu Haze IPA and Miss Conduct blonde Ale. Plenty left for everyone all weekend.

I'm excited that I'm finally going to be able to get to this place on Saturday!
It looks like they are releasing Mosaic Crush cans on Friday. Any chance of there being some left on Saturday, around 2 PM?
Also...does anyone know if they fill up 64 oz and/or 2L growlers from other breweries (if the logo is covered up)?

They do fill up growlers from other breweries. And lately cans have been lasting through the weekend so I'd say you have a very good shot at getting some!
