    PSA time:

The Hampton Inn in Munster, IN just called me to confirm my reservation for DLD. They asked what I was coming into town for and I confirmed everything. A note was made in my reservation to confirm and the event I'll be in town for. Part of the reason for the call is to make sure folks are reserved for the right dates/event (DLD vs. Mother's Day or both).

The potential for 2 vintages instead of a variant adds to this. I think the vast majority of people (myself included) would be disappointed w/ 2 vintages. TBH, when bottles were not included with tickets I wouldn't typically purchase a full allotment.

are people really excited for FVM this year? I haven't heard good things about Muscat barrel aged beers and the only one i have had that I can recall was Dwarven Power Bottom and I didn't like it.....so I'm a bit leery of Ronaldo and FVM this year.

I received the call also....but they didn't ask me about DLD vs. Mothers day. Just confirmed I was coming.

if that is the case, yeah it would work. Because if A turns into a shitshow at 9am, fuck it, go to group B and be top 100 in line there.. then you'll get what you want.. probably..

I, FOR ONE, EMBRACE THE CHAOS!

That'd be the same as just going to the tail end of the A line. Might as well just wait until just before you plan to leave at that point.

Unless they say: "Oh, you are A- go to the A allocation table. There isn't much left. Good luck."

That would make sense and alleviate some issues and stress. However, I try not to assume organization and logic at beer fests, especially this one.

I wasn't there, but at the pub sales for tickets, I was told that FFF was telling people that if they don't get a variant in group A, they can go through in group B, C, D, or E and get a variant that way. And group B can go through C, D, or E, and so on. Which is the dumbest fucking thing they could possibly do. Group E's time slot will be an absolute shit show.

Dude, it's vanilla. Unless it's aged in the portapotty, people will jump at it.

The Moscat doesn't help, but it will still probably be the second variant gone. Unscientific, but it seemed like most people posting in here had it top-3.

I think people are concerned that with all variants being spread out over all 5 groups, there is now potential for more "me first" mentality in all 5 groups.

I can't imagine they'd allow that.....but it is FFF so who knows.

I hope this is the plan..... But at this point random totes would probably be the fairest and least chaotic way to go about allotments.

I still think, based on what i have heard, bobbing for totes in a pool of DL is the most realistic option at this point.

It would be nice if they passed out samples of some variants once you get into the brewery for bottle pickup..... It's not going to happen, but it would be a nice touch.... Like at Prop Day how you got a pour of Prop as soon as you entered the barrel warehouse.
