Looks like Corridor & Mikerphone are making a hawaiian punch IPA. I'm intrigued.

Hubbard's Cave is dropping a V5 with Citra + Mosaic, I hope it is done with the same method as that last one.

    To clear up any speculation...

Roger and I learned commercial NEIPAs together at FR. We went through many batches and learned on the fly. Despite the general friendly and collaborative nature of the brewing industry...the breweries that are putting out the "world class" NEPAs are not sharing their secrets. And, to be honest, we're not asking for them either. As I mentioned before, it was never our intention to clone NE beers. I'm sure our local friends who started before us would have given up some info, but again, we wanted to start from scratch and find our own way.
Re: the NEPA program at FR going forward. Well, it's gotten very real in the past couple of months. A lot of planning has been going into cans and packaging as well as recipe development (a lot of which is chronicled in this thread). First cans will be coming out Mid-June.
You will likely have noticed a lack of new beers this past couple of weeks. FR is a two man operation (and for this last couple of weeks, a one man operation). I have been out for the Craft Brewer's Conf, busy training a new asst. brewer and finally a much needed personal vacation . That'll all be changing next week though. We'll be tapping a new pale ale (Citra/Simcoe) AND our 3 Floyds collab beer I brewed with Todd "The Axeman" Haug. It's a NEIPA (Mosaic/Amarillo) brewed with lactose and fermented on cherry & yellow birch wood.

That's why I was getting worried. Thanks for clarifying! Excited to check out the new stuff.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say some Hawaiian fruit(s) added. A bit south of Chi, but Triptych just did one called Hawaiian Shirt Day (actually still on tap). It was their Dank Meme w/ passion fruit and mango. Good - a bit tart. I wasn't surprsied by this as they were working with passion fruit - had a similar tartness to the most recent incarnation of Spotted Puffer. I preferred the regular or Really Dank Meme over it.

I was wondering where you have been? Vaca is needed for sure

And FFF is helping on a NE style beer? Thought we would never see the day. Thanks man!

Any idea when these would hit the shelves? I'll be in town on M-W next week and would love to try it.

Yeah, if we brew it again, we will halve the passion fruit and double the mango. We had never used passionfruit before and we were surprised how much character it gave at only 25% of the total fruit blend... the passionfruit also had a significant bitterness which was interesting.

I think it's more likely they are helping FFF on a NE style beer.

I have a feeling this year's Chi-Craft Beer Week is going to be epic.

Semantics, I guess, but I would think FFF need more help than the other way around on this one. :stuck_out_tongue:

I can see how that can be misinterpreted, but that's what I was trying to say- FFF isn't known for NE IPAs. Forbidden Root has been doing a nice job with them.

I considered the possibility that that was what you meant, and then went ahead with the comment anyway, like an asshole. :flushed:
