CCBW '17

Bought my Sunday Funday ticket already. My pants got tighter when I saw that tap list.

It's not officially CCBW, but I'm disappointed I can't make the Pipeworks takeover at Emporium. That sounds awesome, but Memorial Day weekend is tough for me.

I'm still waiting for a stellar Saturday event to convince some friends to come out.

I definitely have to attend the Goose event...

Might finally make a visit to Alter, overdue.

Hoping more events will be added in the NW Suburbs during the week, sure Plank Road will have something, my go to spot of late.

 

I probably won't go to one of the "big" events, but to a smaller thing or two. Definitely have my eye on Monk's since it's near work (and that's when I usually need a drink!).

 

Now I think I may go with the wife to the GI Sunday Funday. I know it's at the Barrel House - do they typically let you check out the barrel house or offer tours of it during that? I've never been there, so it's kind of an added bonus to check it out...and I can take my wife's pours of the specialty beers.

 

I don't believe they let you take tours. Last year I don't think you could go inside. The entrance was outside last year. Two years they had you enter in the barrel house and you could walk in a small part of it

 

You walk through it to get to the back of the building, but can't go back through once you get to the party. It's still cool to see though.

 

Last year they kept us outside since the fest was outside. Looked like the brewery dodgeball teams were using part of it for staging but I think they had a couple heavies posted by the doorway.

 

I guess I can add I'm doing BUG and will probably find another thing or two on the weekend like Sunday Funday, it was a great time last year and I hope they can match it. Being out in the burbs I'll be keeping an eye out for more local activities but since I'm so close it might be time to finally visit Alter.

Except for the fact that all the dates on the app show as being in March. Hopefully they get that cleared up - I can pretty much know when stuff is going on, but when it has stuff listed as Saturday, March 18th...it gets a bit confusing.

Is the Welles Park closing event happening this year??

 

Lame, I just noticed the Sour Fest at Delilahs is on Sunday this year. My Dad actually enjoys sours, so it's fun going to that with him. Unfortunately, I don't think I can pull off both that and Sunday Funday at Goose Island.

 

I've managed to convince my wife to do the Ultra Fresh event on Saturday before going out for dinner. I'm intrigued to check out some of the offerings available there.
