Picked up a couple bottles of brandy barrel aged The Abyss at the West Fargo Bottle Barn today. Had 4 more brandy and 4 scotch after I left. If anyone is looking... they also had Black Note for $25 a 4 pack. Needless to say, I passed...

 

I got to hit up Laughing Sun on my way to a funeral in Minot, and they produce solid stuff. Highly recommended.

I also enjoyed Sours River in Minot, and I also liked what I had.

 

Hopslam is hitting stores on the Minnesota side of the river. Also, I was at Junkyard last night and the version of Sin Boldly they have on tap now is outstanding!

 

Drove down to Fargo last weekend and the first thing I tried was the Sin Boldly. You're not joking, it was amazing!

 

Anyone seeing 4 packs of KBS up this way? I can only find bombers...

 

Semi-related. Do any ND breweries can their beers? If so, are they ... distributed anywhere?
ND is one of the few beer-states to elude me now.

 

Harry's on 45th and 52nd still had some. Bridgeview had 4 packs yesterday as well. Haven't looked elsewhere but it seemed like places got a lot this year.

Just picked up a four pack of Fargo Brewing Company's new batch of 1.21 Gigahops and it is excellent! Definitely worth seeking out... so much tropical goodness!!

 

Just grabbed a 4-pack of this. Should I be worried about it being 9.5%? That's quite higher than I normally like to go.

 

I didn't notice the alcohol, but I like high abv beers...

 

So how did you like it?

 

I just found this last night and had two of them....excellent....very drinkable too for the ABV and amount of flavor...I was kind of down on Fargo after my most recent trip to their taproom last summer when a lot of their beers were slightly off...I enjoyed this DIPA on tap before but this is my first time out of cans and it is excellent.

 

I'm drinking Odell's DIPA, Myrcenary, right now and I much prefer Fargo's. They are about the same ABV but the alcohol is much more noticeable in Odell's offering...

 

Not too bad. Doesn't taste like a 9.5%er. Which I appreciate.

 

Yeah I agree with yours and BigIslandFarmer's thoughts...lacks that sticky body....more spritzy and easy drinking which I'm enjoying as well...great flavor....getting another 4 pack tonight...blew through the first one too fast.
