@BeerPrince22 not too drunk  paired with a burger and fries and at only 5.2% it's really crushable.

Honestly, a lot of newer craft beer drinks only seem to be about the newest/dankest IPAs and the biggest barrel aged stouts. Call me a whiny old person but I think my appreciation for all the different styles of beers comes from back in the day when there were fewer options. I still remember when Ommegang was considered one of the coolest and best breweries in the country (they have an awesome taproom by the way) so I gained a huge appreciation for the style of beers they make.

I guess I don't really have a point here but I would encourage people to sample beers from as many different styles as possible. An easy way to do this is when you go to a new brewery ask them what the best/favorite beer they make is instead of just ordering the IPA or stout or w/e.

Salute to Simcoe is legit- at 5.4% it is dangerous... really solid pale ale for sure. Not as good as Squeeze It but def great stuff

As a fan of the "dankest" or at least hoppiest IPAs and craziest BA stouts, I agree here.

With that being said, while there are plenty of styles I don't have enough of an appreciation for, there's something to be said for a well-made ale, lager, etc. that doesn't hit you in the face with crazy flavors. My issue with saisons is that I just don't love Belgian spices in certain types of beer. I have no issue with the style and drink 'em from time to time, but it's just not one of my main go-tos.

Agreed, but I chalk that up to ABV + hop profile. It's tough to top citra + mosaic in a 7 or 8% beer, for me.

was at corridor from 6-8 or so. Salute to Simcoe imo was better than squeezit. very drinkable and u can have a few without that yeasty NEIPA flavor kicking in. Maybe I just enjoy the slight piney edge of simcoe that seemed to cut thru the beer nicely. well structured beer, had a nice body at only 5ish%. Corridor is finally brewing some good stuff. now if we can get the food moving in the right direction...

You didn't like the food? Interesting, I thought the burger was excellent, and the fries even more so. What'd you have?

Have you ever drank Saison du Pont? If not go drink one and tell me HB beers are saisons again.

Pretty standard around BA. You either have "Pipeworks is too strong I have a deabilitating hang over if I drink more than two pints or one bomber in an evening" OR "shut up pu**y go drink bud light"

Ha! Well I was only trying to state that I liked Salute Your Simcoe, and in fact I liked Salute Your Simcoe so much that I had a hard time stopping myself from ordering another. Lol.

I get that same "Belgian-y" twang from a lot of Mikerphone stuff too, so I don't even know what it is I'm tasting anymore.

I haven't. I've had crappy American saisons. They remind me of Hop Butcher's recent efforts.

Not trying to incite the Great Saison War of 2017 here, was just buzzed & posting last night...

It's not Belgian I'll tell you that much... Wtf is going on in this thread with the saisons and belgians? As someone already mentioned go pick up a Saison du Pont and a Tripel Karmeliet. #1 to remind yourself of the style profiles and #2 to appreciate world class beer that's not a flash in the pan. Don't get me wrong I'm bangin hazy IPAs and adjunct BA stouts too, but don't box yourself in a corner of flashy but shallow hype.
