Craft and imports grow, macro declines

    I'm going to sit this one out, but if you posted a thread about this you'd probably get some interest.

    Perhaps AAL will be a good idea for a style tasting thread (like the Maibock one). I was thinking of this (rather than tethering it to a holiday). It's a great fit for highlighting a style that could use it. Thing is, I like the idea of doing this style as side-by-sides rather than solo beers. That way, people will be more prone to comparing differences between similar options rather then simply trashing beers.

    That's the way I see it too, and will make it all about side by sides when the time comes. I'll probably wind up doing 4 at a time myself, each from a different niche in the industry.

    I'd suggest that you be sure your palate is well rested before you do. One big thing I learned while doing some AAL reviews for NBS is that that are not flavorless as some would have us beleive, but what flavors and aromas are there to be found can be very quiet and subtle.

    That's a good point. Whenever I've done my blind tastings it's been on a clean palate, but it will be good to suggest that in the introductory post to kick things off.
