Biggest beer pet peeves

Wine drinkers spit and beer drinkers swallow....Just saying

 

Nah, that spittin' bidness is a shameful waste. One need not spit to chew (or to taste a chewy thing).

Bottle shops posting photos of new releases with the bottles in the sun. I love nature, I like beer, I don't enjoy lightstruck saison. Also I have been in a few shops that for some reason keep a lot of their green bottle beers (ex. DuPont) in the cooler closest to the window. Whatever their motive, they are ensuring I keep my money in my pocket.

 

Maybe I'm by myself on this one.. but I always cringe when someone uses the word "tones" instead of "notes"

Glassware geeks. I get it, proper glassware is better, blah, blah, blah, but c'mon.

Sometimes I just prefer to throw a nice IPA in a pint glass, or even a Solo cup, and heaven forbid maybe straight out of the can!

 

A pet peeve of mine is when you have to turn a whole bottle or can around to see the artwork and brewery/beer name. I like when beer labels have artwork and names on the front and either a description or more artwork on the back. It's especially hard to take a picture.

 

Listing "spice" as an ingredient. Unless you're making a Dune reference, please elaborate. Will I be getting chile peppers or coriander?

I love this. At least in Belgium it would rarely be anything too outlandish (at least by local norms).

 

Thanks to Heady Topper, many drink IPA's from the can. I wouldn't do it any other way.

 

When I get a whole bunch of folks to mule whales for me and then I have to trade them $4$ or I have to sell 'em on eBay. Sometimes when I have too many I have to scrape off or disguise the can or bottle on date so I can move 'em. God that sucks.

 

Had a Julius yesterday.....straight from the can while playing cornhole.

 

I think my biggest pet peeve is someone telling me how I should drink MY beer.

Breweries or bars that only serve their beer in shaker pints.

 

No bottled on date/best before date. Beers that come in a green bottle or worse clear bottle.

 

I want full disclosure - mandate the IBUS's, ingredients, bottled and/or "best by" dates on the label.
