I haven't gone to the past two fests, but have volunteered. I would buy tickets to this one!

I doubt it will get better, and overtime decline.

Example, Goose Island IPA. It is now the cheapest beer in the craft section at the grocery stores (10.99 12-pack), and it is slightly better than a bud something or lite something.
One can assume that GI got marching orders from ABI to make it cheap and make a lot of it and we will distribute it. And was it even brewed at GI, or at some other brewery that ABI owns.

Probably only a matter of time before production of WW is farmed out, out of state.

Does ABI sweep the market to make sure no GI IPA is on the shelf past its best by date, like they do with stuff with the "bud" name on it to make sure nothing is over 110 days old? Previously ABI has said they don't, and pull non-bud beer at 180 days, vs the 110 for bud stuff.

I hope they call it the Funk and Brett Festival. F. A.B...

I could definitely get behind this! They could name it "Unwicked Anti-greed Festival"!!:grinning:

It bother's me that this analogy keeps coming back up. Goose IPA wasn't a highly acclaimed, great beer before the buy out. AB had nothing to do with it becoming "Slightly better than a Bud".

It bothers me that you used an apostrophe in "bothers".

As much as its in vogue to hate on WW's decision, I for one am still glad Vivant is deciding to go, and wish other breweries could take a similar charge.

Is it me or does the fact that this event is 100% for charity make these skinny jean wearing brewers pulling out of the event make them look like self righteous ass bags. I guess they need to keep up appearances for their fanboys lol Meanwhile they're pounding bud heavys after a long day of brewing.......

I think it's just you. Some of the breweries pulling out are working to organize another event, which will be 100% for charity. Also, they're encouraging folks to still donate to Eblen Charities.

So if there's a Trump rally and the proceeds go to charity, I have to go, otherwise I'm anti-charity?

    It's very much just you.

Just you, or look at the other side, why would AB/Inbev announce the buyout right before a charity event.......to try and make craft brewers look bad expecting them to pull out? And I think most are doing their own events for local charity and other breweries might do something like these guys

Did they make the event a charity event after the sell out? Pretty sure they did...

It's been a charity event every year they've had it.

Ahh, thanks for clarifying, just never recalled seeing anything in the past about the charity aspect and now that is front and center since the buy out...

Some have recognized this, and will hold an event the same day, with proceeds going to Eblen Charities, such as Haw River.

No, it was also a charity event last year, for the same Eblen Charities.

the fanboys getting their panties bunched up are funny aren't they. These brewers pulling out of the event is all about appearences for their fanboys. It;s not like any of the proceeds of to WW or AB so whats the deal, scared to upset the little bearded nerds? lmfao

If someone you don't like (Trump?????) has an event for a charity you support, all of a sudden that charity takes a backseat, I get it!!!!!! lololololol
